If you're traveling to Gatlinburg, make a point to stop at Carver's Applehouse. You'll be glad you did. I enjoyed the daily special "Chicken & Dumplings," but the fresh cidar, apple fritters and rolls are enough to make the trip worth taking. The view is wonderful from the top of the hill overlooking the orchard. The atmosphere is warm and... More

We enjoyed our food at this restaurant. The chicken and dumplings were homemade and great. The pinto beans however were from a can so I think they could do better. The prices were reasonable and the store next door had apples, butter, nuts, etc. The Amish butter is excellent.

I've been here a few times, but this was the first time to eat at their little restaurant. I wasn't that impressed. The little round "fritters" were kind of stale. The prices are rather high for what it is and what you get. I ordered the BBQ plate with my 2 sides, I chose mashed potatoes and corn. The BBQ... More

Carver's has been a special place we like to visit every year for some good home cooking, pleasant hostesses, nice view of the apple orchard, great apple fritters. And of course we always visit the warehouse to purchase some delicious apples, cider, and relishes to take home. The view is especially beautiful when the apples are still on the trees.... More

Based on the recommendation of a local resident we met on the Arts and Crafts circle, my husband and I made a special trip out to Carver's. The setting itself is beautiful, with rolling and terraced hills peppered with apple trees. We bought some deep-fried peanuts in the shell at the apple barn before heading to the restaurant. (Note: The... More

Found this place by accident after driving 9 hours to our cabin in gatlinburg. I was hungry, tired and a little cranky. We had dinner first in the restaurant. I am surprised by the negative comments. Come on people this is straight forward classic country food, if you fajitas , aCuban sandwich or a chop salad go down the mountain... More

Our annual visit to Carver's was yet another great visit. Both of us feasted on Chicken & Dumplins, Green Beans, and Mashed Potatoes. Rolls were delicious but as always the Apple Fritters. They are supremely tasty and delicious. Their Apple Butter was tangy, full of apple flavor, and fresh. Their Chicken & Dumplins have to made with a whole chicken... More

The dumplings were the best my wife has ever ate. My fried pork chops weren't as good as my wife's. Some got the omelet and they had put cold fillings in a hot folded omelet. One had country ham and eggs and it was good. These apple dumplings were ok. So overall depending on what you get it's a five... More
