The sweet tea tasted like dirty water, my husbands catfish plate was horrible. The fries were not cooked. I ordered the shrimp and fries. The shrimp was edible but the fries were not, they were cold and soggy. Will not be back. Plus had flies buzzing around while we were trying to eat!

Visited here before and really enjoyed the food and service. However, this visit was really disappointing. Sweet tea tasted like dirty water. French fries were soggy and greasy. Catfish was edible but also very greasy and seemed like it may have been cooked several hours earlier in the day. Hopefully this was just a bad day as I've had good... More

We took our family of five for a meal avg $11 per person including a generous tip. Our hungry kids had never done a buffet before so they were in awe. Everything we tried was tasty and well prepared. I recommend the catfish! The service was friendly and quick. Bathrooms were clean-- important to mom.

Passing through on a recent trip we stopped at The Tennessean. It was a great choice for a quick stop. We were in and out with a couple of hot BBQ sandwiches to-go in just a couple minutes. The staff were friendly and helpful, directing me to the sauce and topping bar that I had missed. Looking forward to sitting... More

This place is a reminder of a point in time decades ago when truck stop restaurants had the best food to be found most anywhere! As a long haul trucker I discovered The Tennessean several years ago and it is now a regular stop for me when traveling along I-65. The food in the restaurant is consistently good and served... More

I have eaten at truck stops all over the US and this is a very good one. Convenient to I-65, the fast & friendly staff will feed you well and get you on the way quickly. My breakfast was well prepared and tasty. The prices are very good.

I had stopped here on a few occasions while passing through and got the good pulled pork BBQ sandwiches to go. These are inexpensive and they have toppings such as slaw and onions to dress you sandwich out. Today I stopped to get breakfast for the first time and was disappointed. I ordered a sausage and cheese omelet with a... More

It looks like a normal truck stop, but the food is good. Lots of choices and plenty of room. My wife had the food and salad bar and I had the Pop's BBQ pulled pork plate. The service was quick and friendly. The food was hot and good. The BBQ is really good. Hot slaw was very good as well.... More

Located just off the interstate, this place really doesn't look like much. Inside is an adventure. Ask your server what's good today, and she will tell you. The place is strung over several connected rooms, sells convenience store and trucker gear, as well as frozen vegetables in zippered bags, locally-produced candy in plastic tubs, assorted items to go. We skipped... More
