At a farewell breakfast with friends as we were leaving Chattanooga, we enjoyed the atmosphere at Aretha's. My companions loved their waffles, but our cheese grits were so spicy as to be inedible (and we are from New Orleans!) The bread was freshly made, waitress attentive. If you like a different, fun place, Aretha's is a good bet, but avoid... More

If you are visiting Chattanooga,TN this is a must visit restaurant. A few miles away from the city but it is worth the drive. The place is small and on the weekend the wait can be extensive. We went during the week and got right in. The decorating is eclectic. Fun to reminisce about our childhood. The food was superb... More

My brother has been here in the past and he insisted we go on a recent trip. As we left he looked at me and asked if I realized why it was so trendy ... my response was surprising to him. You have got to be kidding!! My first choice (insane waffles) ... not available My second choice (philly cheese... More

I went to Aretha's for breakfast on 3/22/15 with my wife, son and daughter-in-law. We had a wait but my son told me it would be good and it was. Cool atmosphere with a gambrel ceiling full of concert and ad posters, etc. I didn't know there had been so many cereal brands introduced even though my birth date goes... More

We got there around 9 to beat the early morning crowd because we'd heard that service was slow but worth the wait. The server was friendly enough. The food was quite average. The pancakes were super huge, but had a strange texture to them that wasn't very appetizing. It's a small place with limited parking and limited seating. And costs... More

We have bought their pancake mix for years at our local grocery store and have always been very pleased with the product. Therefore were excited to eat at the restaurant in Chattanooga. It was simply a terrible experience. On a rainy Monday morning there were maybe 6 other diners in the restaurant, but it took 45 minutes to get food.... More

Wonderful little restaurant in the middle of a neighborhood. The pancakes are the size of frisbees and the coffee is excellent. I loved my bacon and cheese omelet and the biscuit melted in my mouth. The place is tiny, only 5 inside tables, so go at an off time. In a place this small, serve is always great! I will... More

The pancakes were excellent! They are very large. I should have ordered one rather than two. The service was great. Although, they were very busy, we enjoyed a leisurely breakfast with our friends and never felt rushed by the staff.

I believe we were here the same day as the Freak Show reviewer, and I have to agree. The food is very good but not worth the wait. We were told 45 minutes and ended up waiting 1:15. We were screwed because I had no backup plan - we don't live in Chatt. The place is tiny (5 tables and... More
