Come for the food, stay for the crazy amazing people watching. The elephants gerald is my new go-to breakfast. Paired with their bottomless strong coffee is the right play. There is a wait if you dont get there early, and since everything is prepared to order, it can take awhile. But once you get settled, its a great spot.

We had planned to eat at Aretha's for our day trip to Chattanooga with 6 adult family members. The place was very unique, small and quaint, in an older part of the city. Homes, some with shops, some apparently with college students living in them, line the street. Nice feel - we waited on the covered front porch on this... More

I just moved to tennessee and I heard such great things about Aretha's I really wanted to try it, So me and a group of friends went for breakfast. As we are 'trying' to park, a group of staff outside start shaking there heads and mouthing "no". I decide to move my car and park further down the street. While... More

Be prepared to wait an extremely LONG time for food you could easily make at home, have seconds, and then clean your entire kitchen in the time it would take you to still be waiting for one of the 5 tables at the restaurant. Sure, the pancakes are GIANT and very cake like, but if you're looking for an AMA... More

Ate Saturday breakfast. Long wait in the cold, lacking parking, paper coffee cups. Unique and good pancakes. All else average. Service .... A for effort .... D for execution. Wanted to like it more.

My wife and I tried this place when specifically looking for a breakfast diner on Trip Advisor. As most have already mentioned, parking stinks. The restaurant is small. But the atmosphere is, well, interesting, and the crew is also, well, interesting. The chef is proud of his work, and enjoys preparing as much as we enjoy eating, the Shrimp n... More

My friend went on and on about how much he loved this place, I now question his taste in food. Biscuits were not fresh, my food just wasn't tasty.

We went on an early Saturday morning as we had been told the wait here is long. There is no parking for the restaurant. You just have to hope to find onstreet parking. It is really cold due to improper heat. As we were waiting on our food there was a roach on one of the chairs at our table.... More

Funky little restaurant in an old house tucked away in a residential neighborhood across the river from downtown Chattanooga. Pancakes, omelets, burritos, sandwiches, etc. Huge (not an exaggeration) portions, wonderful food. Very few tables, some bar seating, a porch and patio to enjoy mild mountain weather. We were warned about the wait on weekends. Definitely worth it. Fair prices, friendly... More
