This little deli is in the basement of one of the older building on the north side of the river in Chattanooga. You can't see it from the main road when you turn east after crossing the Market Street bridge but you can easily spot it from the Walnut Street bridge. There is also a road between the buildings and... More

I took the family to River Street Deli in Chattanooga on Saturday. Food was good- and quick. The location - near the NorthShore park - is conveient. Reminds me of Deli's in New England where there is a focus on the food. The place may not be too pretty, and it seeing a lot of use (Business looked to be... More

Friend took me here for the first time. Oh my word, this place is great! The Stromboli was excellent, full of meat and a little rosemary in the bread, so flavorful. I will be a regular and am telling everyone about this place. A little gem in Cooliage park.

We were visiting the area and after walking through Coolidge Park and across the Walnut Street bridge we were approached by an employee of the River Street Deli giving out samples of Stromboli which tasted pretty good so we decided to go in and grab a bite to eat, they have a lot of different salads as well as sandwiches... We happened to stumble on this place after asking a few locals. We here hesitant due to the hole in the wall appearance but gave it a try based on their recommendations. Wow!!!! We ordered numerous sandwiches and they were all amazing! My favorite was the one that comes with the pimento spread. The employees are all very nice and... More

We went there for lunch just on a walking tour of the city. We had a veggie sandwich that was very good except the bread was a little soggy. A chicken breast sandwich was really tasty. The artichoke salad was good. The salads all looked really good. Price was not bad.

Really did not live up to the reviews. Quality cuts of meat, but not enough on the sandwich, mustard was globed in one are, the may in another. The chef salad had egg salad instead of hard boiled eggs.

It can be a little hard to find, but River Street Deli is worth the effort if you want a great sandwich served with a lot of character. The owner knows what he is doing and if he recommends something, and he will, you should just take his word for it! Our group tried three different combinations of meat with... More

I've eaten more at River Street Deli more times than I can count. Bruce, the owner always connects with his customers and gives them a Unique experience with his Deli AND Art background. Food is ALWAYS Great as is the service. Lots of local art adorns the walls of the deli. Just Ask Bruce about the pieces and the artists.... More
