Elegant but cozy, one-of-a-kind in Chattanooga

My friends hosted a baby shower luncheon at the English Rose. It was the perfect venue for such an event. I'm not an experienced tea drinker or snob, generally just enjoy an earl gray, but I did enjoy the pear tea and it was very flavorful. The food portions are a good size and there is a good menu... read more

Wonderful shop, good service, great food. A trifle pricey, but that was part of the experience and count it money well spent for experience. Will definitely visit again...and again.

I'm new to Chattanooga and decided to try this out since I was downtown. I was very disappointed. Covering everything in lace and floral prints doesn't make a tea room. I had the bangers and mash, which were sub par. I've had better frozen meals from Marks and Spencer. However, the scones were quite nice. The service was almost non... More

I've had tea at Fortnum and Mason as well as in Harrod's of London, and was ecstatic when I found out there was a tea room right across from our hotel. It's hard to find in the US. We rushed over only to have the most disappointing and irritating experience. What a waste of money and time. The staff members... More

I am so sorry you had such a disappointing time in our tearoom. What kind of tea did you order? We have many loose teas to choose from. Traditionally, we've served PGTips as our house tea. Recently, we've gone to our own blend which is very similar, but loose. Our scones are freshly made daily, not from a grocery store.... More

If you are visiting Chattanooga this is a MUST!! An authentic British tea room run by a delightful British couple (the Sarjants) with all those little things that make teatime so special.....lace table cloths, proper tea (not bags), tea pots with cosies, scones with jam and cream etc......all served with old world charm in a room where the surrounds are... Been here multiple times. Food is consistently good. Small dining area, but they make good use of the space. They offer teas, entrees, and desserts. Wait staff is attentive and friendly. Very enjoyable place for lunch or a ladies get together.

Nothing like a midday break from the routine...tea service, quaint dining space and their flounder is perfect every time! Have also enjoy an assortment of finger sandwiches at one visit with a couple of friends, soup and salad another...always revert to the flounder (get the peas!) as the go-to for a lunch that satisfies. While the crowd is typically female... More

My daughter treated me to a lunch out here. The house tea was wonderful and some of the best I have even had. The staff was very friendly. The menu also had some very good Gluten Free Options. I ordered the cottage pie and it was wonderful. I would highly recommend this Tea Room!

We went here today and the English Rose Tea Room was wonderful! Tasty food, excellent service and very British atmosphere. Would highly recommend it.

Just delightful! Really good food, be sure to try the potato-leek soup, friendly, helpful service. Not far off I24 and parking close by, recommend.
