Fresh Crispy Hot Chicken

Champy's Chicken in Chattanooga has the best fried chicken I have every eaten. It is not greasy but hot, crisp and juicy. I have heard they made good tamales also but have not tried them. The restaurant has an outside section that they enclose in plastic when it is cool. It is kind of like a... read more

Forget the linen. Forget fancy lighting. Give me a clean place with great food, friendly service, and good beer. Chappy's hit on each of these. My German colleague and I came on a recommendation of a friend and were completely satisfied. We started with Tamales which were top notch. The fried chichen was not too oily and my baked beans... The fried chicken was excellent and the serving you get will be enough for 2 meals. The home style sides like green beans, beans, etc are seasoned perfectly. The service was very friendly and quick. You can eat out on the patio or inside. Either place is very relaxing and enjoyable. Their parking lot is always full so that is... More

Best chicken tenders, baked beans, wings we've had. The wings were baked and were good which is unusual. The hot wings had honey but we're too oily and not hot enough for me. Our server was really nice. If you want some southern Food this is the place to go. You can sit outside or if you prefer AC inside,... More

My wife loves chicken livers and so when her order arrived...it was more than 3 people can eat! I got the chicken strips (4) and could only eat three. Big portions. Takes a little while because they don't cook ahead, they cook it when you order it. Worth the wait. DO NOT MISS fried green tomatoes! We wanted hot tamales... More

We love the chicken at Champy's and it was good but a little pricey this time. We both had one chicken breast with two sides and 4 regular size beers and it was $50.00. I think that is a little pricey for this type food.

Went there with a co-worker who lives in Chattanooga. Got there early and sat right away. Waitress was super friendly. We ordered the tamales for an appetizer- very yummy. My table mate ordered the catfish dinner. She didn't offer me any, so I guess it was good. I opted for the two-piece white chicken meal. Swapped the slaw for green... More

First, this is a neat place to go. But the chicken isn't all that. It wasn't bad at all, but not as good as the hype. I can name a handful of places where I'd go back to get fried chicken repeatedly; Champ's doesn't make that list, but it's definitely better than fast-food chicken. Again, it's about the experience and... More

Went there on advice of line service guys at Wilson Aviation and was very pleasantly surprised. Menu has limited selections, all of which contain chicken (surprise!!!). All of the dishes ordered by our group were great. Not one complaint from anyone. Don't let the name of the street it's on keep you away. Parking is adjacent to the restaurant and... More
