Fried Chicken? Yes Please!

This is not a fancy place. Their motto is Forties and Fowl and by that they mean 40oz beer and fried chicken. It was packed, and with good reason. They don't have a huge menu, but they excel on what they do serve. Great chicken!

We got lucky to sneak in when it wasn't too crowded. We tried the jalapeno's, sausage (kielbasa type) and the tamales too. It was all yummy (especially the sausage!) The fried chicken was piping hot and very fresh. Would have loved to visit here during crawfish season to attend a boil. Maybe another visit!:)

Best fried chicken in my life! I purchased chicken dinner white meat. I couldn't stop eating it was so good. The flavor was sooooo delicious the spices were on point. The restaurant is alive and the heartbeat of the area. I wish I was able to hear some music. Every time I go to Chattanooga I am eating here.

The fried chicken salad is the best I've ever tasted. They put eggs, pickles, onion and toppled it with homemade ranch dressing. Soooo good!!

Champy's is the best! The atmosphere makes me feel like I am on vacation. I am not normally a fan of chicken on the bone, but I can't get enough of their chicken! It is sooooo good!. Having eaten their so many times, at times it may not be perfect, but it is close enough to make me want to... More

OMG! The best fried chicken I've ever had. Took this recommendation from someone on the plane who lives in Chattanooga. It's become my new number one over "Gus's Fried Chicken" in Memphis, TN. I got the three piece dark and the taste is just unbelievable. It's actually what you envision southern fried chicken to taste like. The sides (cole slaw... More

Loved the food here! The fried green tomatoes were excellent and I devoured the fried chicken. Staff was excellent and very sweet. Overall, and excellent place, great atmosphere and amazing food.

Been to Gus's in Memphis and this place is definitely easier to get into and just as good. Their fry is light and crispy, with little to no grease left on the white bread in the bottom of the basket. We went with our family of 7 and we got the family style meal that included 16 piece of fried... More

This has to be the best fried chicken I've ever eaten. The chicken was moist and tender, the breading was fresh and the meat was served piping hot. Gotta try the French fries and fried pickles too! Don't forget the Cole slaw and baked beans. It's a must go if you are in Chattanooga!

This is the place for chicken! They offer salads, etc., but the main reason to go there is for the fried chicken and chicken livers. Mmmm, Mmmm good! Most of the sides are yummy too. Funky decor and outside/inside seating make it lots of fun.
