This weekend I took a little weekend trip to Chattanooga with my sister, daughter, nieces and grandchildren to visit the Chattanooga Aquarium and I am always in favor of eating in a "hot" local spot that has character and good food. One of my dear friends and church members that recently moved here suggested "Champys" so we were all game.... More

We visited on our trip to Chattanooga, and did the lunch thang. The chicken was very good, the service was prompt and courteous. Which was surprising considering how crowded they were. But you're gonna have to rub wings with folks to be able to enjoy the fare.

I realize I'm in the minority and after so much positive word of mouth, I was prepared to be awestruck by some good old southern fried chicken, but I was sorely disappointed. While the staff was kind and attentive, the food was awful. The chicken was edible and mediocre at best. The sides were disgusting! Soggy slaw and mushy beans... More

I have heard a lot about this place and the day came to check it out. I was lucky I had friends waiting otherwise I'm not sure when I would have been seated. It was around 6:30 on a Friday and the place was packed with people waiting outside. The atmosphere is charming and has an original local flavor feel... More

Seldom do I agree with my kids on food, but my family is in total agreement when it comes to Champy"s! I seldom fry anything, but like most of us in the South, love good fried chicken; you can't get much better than Champy's. Rustic decor. Quick service.

If you haven't figured it out by now... They are known for their chicken. It is some of the best chicken to be had in the area, maybe anywhere. It has a bar/restaurant feel and is very casual. The champy's sauce goes great with the meal as well

Best fried anything in town. Chicken. Fries. Pickles. Jalapeños. 40 oz beers. Meat and cheese app is chart topping. Even the salads are delish. Everyone in my family shares and I tasted nothing but excellence. We will return. Prices are very reasonable.

This is some if the best tasting and crispiest fried chicken you have ever had!! Atmosphere reminds if many college hangouts I frequented in my day, but it's fun and it works. Service was friendly and sweet tea was spot on. Will definitely be back.

Stopped by on our way home to middle Tennessee. This locally owned place does not have much curb appear but the catfish is near perfection. Wonderful service with local flare. We will go back.

I was traveling with my 20 yo nephew and my 9 yo son. I noticed that the servers tried to seat the families with small children inside and keep the bar crowd out on the patio. I ordered half a fried chicken because I knew my son would want the chicken leg, and I would want to try the catfish... More
