Fantastic Food and Very Accommodating

We had a party of more than 50 people on a Monday night in June for dinner. They offered us a menu which had three choices: Salmon, Chicken and a beef dish. These were three course meals, with a salad or soup, the entree and two dessert choices of creme brule or banana pudding with a chocolate chip... read more

We had the fried chicken (marinated in sweet tea) & grilled chicken for our entrees and both were heavenly. We were surprised the grilled chicken wasn't one of the recommendations. Enjoyed the pimento cheese with grilled sourdough bread & fried pickles as an appetizer.

We were seated in a trendy, smart atmosphere with a casual, unpretentious setting. The fare was simple but original and very tasty. Prices very reasonable and an altogether outstanding experience. Recommended

This is a favorite lunch spot for business lunches in downtown area. We love the menu in general that is southern with a twist, and especially love the pimiento cheese and fried pickles (I could go there just for those!), and their crab cakes. My colleagues all love fried chicken and southern sides. It's not a large place so if... More

This is a great restaurant and I would recommend it to anyone. I ate in the bar area which is called The Social and the service was Top Notch. I decided to try the Pot Roast and it was excellent. I saw both the Fried Chicken and Shrimp and Grits being served and I cant wait to go back for... More

We read the good reviews for this restaurant and decide to give it a try. It is a little on the fancy side. This is not a place you wear flip-flops. Considering we are tourist and this is the south and the temps were in the 90's we had on shorts and flip-flops and felt a little under dressed. HOWEVER,... More

My husband and I visited Chattanooga to go to the aquarium. We visited Public House for lunch; some of the food was good and some not. I had the house salad and added a crab cake. The crab cake was not worth $10! The flavor was just off. I asked for cocktail sauce to have with the crab cake and... More

I wish I could give this restaurant a better rating. I very much enjoyed the experience...minus the food. It wasn't horrible. Each dish just had something about it that made it slightly off. We ordered the scallops with bacon vinaigrette. The scallops were cooked perfectly but the vinaigrette was too tangy. I also ordered the fried chicken salad. I was... More

In the four days I was in Chattanooga, and having been there several times before, it was the Public House that was the hands down favorite. A local recommended it the first day, and I went back for lunch every day there after. The variety and flavors are outstanding. Its new South feel, inventive expressions and fresh quality make it...
