I found Public House through research on Yelp. The overall rating is good and it has a locally sourced ingredients concept. We were a large party of 3 families (each with 2 children). I made a reservation and they put together a long table in the middle of the restaurant. Love the ambiance and decor. Our waiter was super friendly... More

The staff and atmosphere were top notch. The food was good, but not great. We tried all the recommended dishes and all were good. My only slight complaint was the grilled cheese( which I would never order) was not too hot when it came to the table, maybe it took the long road. If in Chattanooga, we would return.

The hostess had zero desire to add our name to a wait list, zero consideration for the fact we were just visiting for the first time and did not know that reservations were apparently not just accepted, but required.... with a first impression like that, why bother?

Monday nights sometimes are "off" nights for restaurants but not at Public House! I have not had dinner there in several months so I was delighted with the menu for summer. After yoga all I desired were side dishes so I ordered garlic green beans, squash casserole, and quinoa pilaf. We ate at the bar, "The Social," because we enjoy... More

We had a large group go for dinner. Asked for separate checks, no problem. Mentioned that we had to be somewhere by a specific time, no problem. I ordered the pot roast and it was amazing. Several others in my group got the fried chicken and they all enjoyed it. The service was fantastic.

We ate lunch here as it was close to our hotel. I ordered an appetizer of fried pickles which also came with pimento cheese - very good! Our meals were grilled and fried chicken and a few vegetable dishes which we shared. Everything is reasonably priced. The service was also excellent. I will go back the next time I'm in... More

I started with the marinated mushroom & goat cheese grilled cheese with a kale salad ($9) this is a very good sandwich. Cheesy, a good chewy bread and the mushrooms are exquisite. I also had the please of eating 1/2 of my daughters pot roast....the best I have ever had!!! It was very tender, flavorful and tender vegetables. Service is... More

I visited the Public House during the weekday for lunch. The interior is quite nice, a rustic modern feel to it. I almost felt under-dressed, until I saw the wait staff looking just as comfortable as I. We were given the option to eat inside or out, and unfortunately chose inside. Once the restaurant became full, talking became an exercise... More

We love this restaurant. My husband thinks their pot roast is the best he's ever eaten. I love the shrimp and grits. Excellent atmosphere. You won't be disappointed.
