I had been going to the Sportsman's Grille and Lodge for years. I always had a good experience and meal. I often would recommend them to people at my work since it was in the area. Everything changed yesterday when I went in for lunch. I walked in a little after 1 p.m. and ( following the signs) I waited... More

First time there and we all really enjoyed it. We went on Sat night at 6:15 and had a 45 wait. Recommend making reservations. Our waiter was great. Everybody's food was excellent. I had the pan fried Walleye and it was good, but had a few small bones. Ready to go back and try other items.

The ambience is so rustic and the food is quite good. They are very accommodating to large groups, as ours was.

This place would probably be a hit in 1980. The decor is old, that is what I could see of it. It's so dark and dingy inside. Most of the patrons are over 50. The hostess looked at us like she was getting ready to leave and didn't want us to come in. Our waitress could have used a comb... More

One of our favorite places for lunch. Excellent wine list great variety on menu. Atmosphere conducive to pleasant conversation. Wife had shrimp, I had grouper, both were excellent. Waiter attentive but not pushy. Very enjoyable experience.

More like a 2 3/4...hate to go as low as a "2"...normally I would rate this much better than average. We have been many times and enjoyed the catfish...the blackened fish sandwiches, and the rice & beans. I was in the mood for chicken so I ordered the blackened chicken sandwich which came with blue cheese crumble type topping....(had it... More

Had lunch there and it was very dark inside, unnecessarily so. Service was slow and the waitress was unkempt. Food was appropriate for a lounge-bar. Didn't have high expectations and it met them.

The atmosphere is a wonderful perk of eating here... a nice fireplace, wall mounts, and an outdoor feel - it truly is a lodge! The menu is extensive, so you're sure to find something you will like. If you're in the mood for a drink, there is a large list there as well. The atmosphere is really what makes the... More

When here on the recommendation of locals. We all ordered the catfish and I have to say it was excellent. However none in our group liked the cold slaw. It had a very bitter taste. We all ordered the small basket and it was really good and about 4 pieces of fish. It was served with a pancake looking piece... More

Tried Sportsman's Grille this week and the catfish did not disappoint. The food met my expectations and the high mountain atmosphere was interesting and probably even better in the winter. The servers were friendly and courteous and overall, a very good experience.
