We went to the Bay Leaf on the recommendation of people in the quilt shop we had gone to Spearfish to visit. They turned out to be absolutely correct: it is a wonderful restaurant with great food. We even got to talk to the owner, Taffy Tucker, who is very interesting and who gave us a brief tour of the... More

After a 20-mile bike ride on the Mickelson Trail, we stopped in Spearfish for a bite of dinner. What a fun and delicious variety of specials and regular entrees the Bay Leaf has. It's steadily busy which is always a good sign. The gazpacho and French Onion soup au gratin were yummy, and my husband's thick pork chop with a... More

Good food, variety on menu. Service was slow, but we were in no hurry. On the curb, you can have your dog with you. I'd recommend this place for a nice leisurely lunch or late afternoon snack.

The food was very good. The onion soup was excellent. The Bourbon St. pasta was great. However, the service was unbelievably slow and disorganized. We were dining with old friends and in no rush, but it took nearly 90 minutes to get our dinners. First, the waiter forgot what we ordered and had to check back with us about 20... More

We stopped in Spearfish on our way to Devil's Tower. The food was excellent. We highly recommend the spinach pie and the island salad. Trip Advisor steered us right once again.

Our dinner was just ok - fish was over cooked and the house wine is Crane Lake. All the people there were efficient but not overly friendly.

We came to this place for lunch, and were very pleased by the food quality and service. The small but clean and quaint place was very well run and our moussaka and fish dishes were very delicious. They had the taste of just cooked from fresh ingredients. The fried crayfish was exceptionally good that we decided to order another to... More

This was my second visit here and I was impressed both times. My kids had fried ravioli...sauce was incredible. I have had gyros and the Mediterranean plate...excellent. Service was friendly and timely. Their menu is varied with many different choices. The food tastes home cooked, not like typical deli food. Quaint, clean, nice seating indoors and out. They do have... More

We went to this restaurant on a Tuesday for lunch. This place was already quite full. We wanted to try this restaurant while we were at Spearfish. It is closed on Sunday. We picked this restaurant because their menu was impressive and we had very specialized diet vegetarian, gluten free choices. This restaurant offered these choices. We ordered some cold... More

My husband and I ate here for my birthday. We've heard how good Bay Leaf is, and it certainly lives up to the hype! As a vegetarian, I was excited to see they have a "vegetarian" section in their menu. Our waitress (Grace, I think?)was wonderful. She was friendly, patient and helped us pick from the menu. I ordered her... More
