Stopped by for a late lunch here. It was a nice place - comfortable home town feel. Two of us ordered their bison burgers and the other companion ordered the German platter. Wow - the bison burgers beat out any we have had - fresh cooked to perfection - not overcooked - full of flavor. Great bun with the burger... More

When you enter, you'll see decor of yesteryear along with lots of quilts hung on the walls. You'll also notice a lot of local and older folks eating there. This usually indicates good food and good value --- correct indicators in this case. I had a very good ruben sandwich with sweet potato fries. Exceptional. The only flaw I noted... More

Service was slow but the food was fresh and very tasty. Extremely reasonable too. Try the rhubarb cake- if you have room!

Ok..so I can't comment on the food. It was the reason we wanted to try here. We understood it would be a small place and we went at the noon hour. However, we walked in and it's a wait to be seated. That's fine...however no approached us...Finally a waitress past us and we're full and it'll be a few minutes.... More

We dined here last night and liked it. It is a trendy restaurant frequented by locals. The menu is varied and the only regret I had was not being able to try come of their Middle Eastern menu items as they had a great walleye, which can be grilled or crusted. Both were very tasty. The Greek salad was good... More

I like the decor and atmosphere of this restaurant. They have interesting food selections, regular things and then more interesting things. I ate here with family in 2004 and went back today 10 years later. I still like it.

We went to the Bay Leaf on the recommendation of people in the quilt shop we had gone to Spearfish to visit. They turned out to be absolutely correct: it is a wonderful restaurant with great food. We even got to talk to the owner, Taffy Tucker, who is very interesting and who gave us a brief tour of the... More

After a 20-mile bike ride on the Mickelson Trail, we stopped in Spearfish for a bite of dinner. What a fun and delicious variety of specials and regular entrees the Bay Leaf has. It's steadily busy which is always a good sign. The gazpacho and French Onion soup au gratin were yummy, and my husband's thick pork chop with a... More

Good food, variety on menu. Service was slow, but we were in no hurry. On the curb, you can have your dog with you. I'd recommend this place for a nice leisurely lunch or late afternoon snack.

The food was very good. The onion soup was excellent. The Bourbon St. pasta was great. However, the service was unbelievably slow and disorganized. We were dining with old friends and in no rush, but it took nearly 90 minutes to get our dinners. First, the waiter forgot what we ordered and had to check back with us about 20... More
