The Bay Leaf Cafe always provides excellent food, with a wide menu to please vegetarians as well as meat lovers. The decor is a constantly changing art exhibit. Dinner is inexpensive with a small but nicely priced wine menu. The noon quiche is always a favorite. I have eaten here at least once a month for more than 20 years,... More

We ate here twice, once for dinner and once for lunch. They have very good food and excellent service. Their food is fresh, healthy and has a little bit of a greek touch. I recommend this restaurant whole heartedly!

Had the evening special of walleye. Wrong choice. The other couple had the 6 oz steak, which looked a lot better. The walleye was very dry and pretty much tasteless, tasted as if it had been cooked earlier in the day for the "evening special" and reheated. The "French fries" were actually homemade potato chips that were just this side... More

Food was good the salads were awesome. The only complaint the wait time was extreme, for as few customers that were there at the time. we sat for an hour before we received or food. other than that it was great

Were debating between here and Killians, and seems we might have made the wrong decision.... Drove by Killians, and it appeared to be too "Taverny" for kids, so we opted for the more family oriented Bay Leaf. Eager to try some of their local beers, was quite disappointed to learn they were out of nearly every specialty brew they offered!... More

I enjoyed my meal at Bayleaf. I liked the atmosphere and the art on the walls, and there is a decent beer/wine list. I ordered the trout, which was very average. It was a little dry and tough and forgettable, although certainly edible. The vegetables and potatoes were outstanding and perfectly seasoned. I really enjoyed the tabbouleh salad as well--it... We ate here on our first night in Spearfish - honestly, not by choice. It was the only restaurant still open at 7pm, but I am so glad we stopped in! Mediterranean menu with lots of options (including vegetarian). We ordered grilled halibut and salsa topped pork chops. Hands down, one of the best meals we've had. Their french onion... More

The food here is excellent and a good value for the money. We ate on a particularly busy night and had a newbie waiter who forgot to submit our order to the kitchen. He fessed up, said we would have our food in 10 minutes, and offered us free dessert. We finally got our food 25 minutes after he told... More

I ate here twice during a recent trip to the area (staying in Deadwood). As a vegetarian and a fan of light, fresh food, I sometimes have a hard time finding restaurants in this part of the country so this was a great find for me. Everything I had was really tasty (recommend the tabbouleh salad and the rhubarb cake)... More
