The high point of Pickle Barrel is the size of their sandwich. Even the small is filling. They usually have several soup options as well. However the atmosphere could be more cozy. It feels rather cold. Service is always quick. Unfortunately I haven't been impressed with the texture of their pickles- kind of mushy in the middle.

Stay away from any sandwich with bbq in the name. The steak sandwich was tasteless because the sauce was basically just tomato paste/sauce without much else. The other sandwiches looked good. . . I may have just picked the wrong one. It needed something to add flavor. My wife ordered the cheese steak sandwich. She had the same opinion.

I had the hot chicken sub. I now crave this sub. The staff made me feel at home and helped me decide what to order.

Great spot for a good sandwich that easily fills. The Irish theme is very fun as well. Don't forget to grab a pickle from the barrel of pickles for which the Pickle Barrel gets the name Pickle Barrel.

I always try to avoid the big chains, especially on vacation. This is a smaller chain (4 or 5 locations I think) but doesn't feel like a chain. Wasn't very busy. Lot's of seating. Me and my partner both had the cheese steaks, she had her's with blue cheese. We got the 9 inch ones, and we were both full... More

Far as sandwich/sub shop, this might be one of the best around. The girls in there were cool as the other side of the pillow. Considering the number of people ordering, they did a great job of getting food out to people as soon as possible. My Rome title has to do with my Philly Steak. They put a BBQ... More

The sandwiches are massive and always quality. It is a chain of sorts it was started in Montana I believe. However it doesn't feel like a chain and you should definitely check it out if you enjoy a good sandwich. Don't forget to grab a pickle from the barrel.

This is my favorite sandwich shop in Sioux Falls. They have a variety of hot and cold subs, both of which are great. I would say that a "half" sandwich is equal or larger than a footlong sandwich at many sub shops. The bread is always soft and the veggies fresh. The complimentary pickle is a nice touch as well.

When I moved to town one of my co-workers recommended Pickle Barrel, and know this is the only place I get a sub. Everything is fresh and delicious. Just love the place and if you are in the SF area - Map it and go get the best sandwich ever and of course a big pickle!

Whenever possible, I try to stay away from chain restaurants when I travel to a different city. I read about the Pickle Barrel in a local newspaper and was very glad I gave them a try. I had half a sandwich and soup. The toppings were plentiful and the sandwich was exactly as I ordered. The soup was super hot.... More
