Made our dinner reservations based on good reviews by Trip Advisor contributors and we were not disappointed. The place was bustling and wonderful aromas from the kitchen added to the entire experience. The menu offered authentic selections that were delicious, and the service was better than advertised. The manager visited our table to ask if anything could have been better,... More

We had the buffet. The chicken in the tikka masala tasted like it was previously frozen. Kind of rubbery. The vegetables in the jalfraizi were super mushy. And the seasonings were on the bland side. On the plus side: the naan was piping hot and delicious. And the mango lassi was thick and refreshing. So, an ok place if you're... More

Great dinner at Kathmandu tonight. The service was pretty good, the food excellent. The heat level was precisely as advertised, with medium nice and tangy for my taste, so we felt good for taking the recommendation of avoiding 'hot.' I went with an Indian favorite of mine, Chicken Tikka Masala, and I was very, very pleased. The price per entree... More

Very good quality food, the spice level is made exactly to your order. The service was excellent, very attentive to each move but not bothering you. I am used to Indian lunch buffets for $15 all-you-can-eat- and- try , so $80 for 2 people seemed a bit too steep, but it was dinner and we had a botte of wine... More

We had a fantastic dinner at Kathmandu Bistro in August, but what happened after our delicious meal is what has prompted my review. First of all, we had great meals - a tomato soup that took me right back to the Himalayas, as well as vegetarian biryani for me and a mixed tandoori plate for my husband. The regular naan... More

Wow! Thanks to Trip Advisor we were alerted to this delicious restaurant. We've been traveling for a few days in South Dakota and have been living on burgers and fries so we thought we'd try something different. Kathmandu twas just such a delightful surprise. The pakora was yummy, the garlic naan tasty and soft...and my shrimp tandoori was flavorful. Service... More

Not as commercialized as some other restaurants in the area, but good location downtown. I asked the owner and the chicken, shrimp and lamb are all frozen. He preferred the shrimp biryani which was very tasty. Our tandoori chicken couldn’t have been much better. Will definitely go back there again. We were seated towards the window near the street so... My husband and I went for dinner here will traveling through the Badlands and Black Hills. Unfortunately, the were out of most of their Nepalese dishes. They said they often run out on weekends. So we order the naan basket, the Lamb Bhuna and Daal Makhani with the mango chutney and the raita. Everything was really good except the raita... More

We've been traveling to Rapid City several times throughout Summer 2014 but were hesitant to try the restaurant after readin a few of the reviews. I'm so happy that we decided to give it a try! We dined here on a Tuesday evening and were able to enjoy the restaurant, the wonderfully attentive wait staff, the food and the wine.... More

I live in NYC and enjoy Indian food. I decided to give this place a try. He has a buffet lunch and it was a real treat. The owner clearly takes pride and works hard to make his restaurant enjoyable. If you want Indian food in the middle of Rapid City, GO TO KATHMANDU!
