This is a place like no other. Food was very good, price was reasonable and was very enjoyable. I would definitely return here. Easy to get to from our hotel at the Howard Johnson.

Given the eclectic collection of what can only be called junk adorns the walls, I assume the name is derived from the ’70s TV sitcom, Sanford & Son, starring Redd Foxx (whose real name is John Elroy Sanford). The title character’s junkyard was the main setting. Last August, TripAdvisor indicated a somewhat higher placement amongst Rapid City’s 200 restaurants. Given... More

We used to go to Sanfords at least once a week for lunch, but due to changes they have made over the last several months we rarely go there and I doubt we will return after our meal today. They have always been very hit or miss on the food, but their great deals made up for the risk. Stanford's... More

This place was really cool to look around like a museum. There was not really any unfried vegetarian options all the food was pretty greasy would be a great hangover cure! $1 beers are an awesome concept!

The portions are enormous here, and I also really like the layout of the place: it's in a former loading dock, giving it a floorplan that is unique and conducive to lots of spaces that feel separate from each other even though they're all connected. The food isn't, however, anything worth going out of your way for. It's part of... More

We met friends here one evening while on vacation. There was a good selection of beer, including a few local brews (Crow Peak) which was cool. The appetizers, service, and atmosphere were all great.

What's not to like about Sandfords! Appetizers, meals, drinks--everything was pretty darn good. We found tyhis place when we were starting a bus trip in Rapid City and I would go back there in a heartbeat. Besides the food being excellent the throwback nostalgic atmosphere was neat.
