Chef Louie's has a classic supper club feel. They offer great steak, poultry, seafood, and pasta entrees. This is one of the few real dining options between Sioux Falls and Rapid City.

Very nice dining. Service was great. Meal came promptly. Food was excellent and steaks were cooked as ordered. Amaretto cake was delicious. Overall a very nice dining experience. I would highly recommend.

We spent the night in Mitchell on our way to Black Hills. Asked at out motel about places to eat. They recommended Chef Louie's. My husband had the nightly special, salmon stuffed with crab and shrimp. Bacon wrapped asparagus on the side. He said it was his favorite meal on our trip.

This is a fantastic restaurant! Didn't look like much on the outside but inside was really good. The food was super! I had the Filet Oscar which had asparagus and crab meat with a béarnaise sauce. GREAT! My husband had the 22oz Bone In Ribeye. He said it was perfect and one of the best he had ever had. I... More

My husband and I had dinner at Chef Louie's Steakhouse and Lounge in Mitchell, South Dakota. He had the 10 oz Prime Rib, and I had the Pan-Fried Walleye Fillet with Au Gratin Potatoes. Both of our meals were outstanding! Our server, Heidi, was excellent, very prompt and attentive. Our food was served very quickly, piping hot, and if I... More

The good news: I like my steak well done which is usually a tricky thing to do. My "steak oscar" here was the best steak I've had in a long time! Although there wasn't alot of crab, the asparagus made up for it and the steak was juicy, no pink and excellant The BAD news: My husband ordered the special,... More

We ate in this restaurant twice during a recent road trip to Mt Rushmore. The service is excellent; the waitpersons are really very personable ( our last waiter… a college basketball player)was very entertaining and made our meal more enjoyable. A "roast beef special" was on offer when we were there, and the quality of the beef as well as... More

We stayed in Mitchell one night and chose to have dinner at Chef Louie's based on other TA reviews. It didn't disappoint. The exterior of the building is rather unassuming but the inside is quite pretty - especially the large crystal chandelier in the dining area. My husband and I have both been servers in our younger years and we... More

We have been here before and like before, the food was great. The steaks were cooked properly and had no problems with the service. The only complaint is that we sat in the lounge and there was a rather large party there and they were all quite drunk and the f-bombs were flying left and right. I don't mind the... More
