The staff worked really hard to keep everything moving, yet they kept a very friendly attitude as the place was packed due to the tree-lighting parade. Atmosphere is as you would imagine a home-style, small-town cafe should be. Prices were good, the service was excellent, but the food just didn't do much for me. Perhaps I had unreasonable expectations, but... More

This cafe on Main Street offers hearty homestyle meals and burgers. The weekend all you can eat ribs was a treat. Portions are very generous and one serving was more than enough. The ribs were tender, lean, and full of flavor. The cafe also offers a salad bar and although the selections are somewhat limited, everything was fresh. The service... More

We walked here to eat after staying at the Alpine Inn, and the breakfast was wonderful. The waitress was super friendly, and the Banana Pecan pancakes were great. The place had a small-town / local cafe feel to it, and was neat to eat at on a Saturday morning. I would definitely recommend for breakfast if you're in the area.

We spent the day riding the Harley through the Black Hills in South Dakota. We stopped for lunch at the Hill City Café. It is pretty much a ma and pop place but don't let that fool you. We received great service and our party of eight were all smiling. I had the country fried steak which turned out to... More

Hill City Cafe is like every small town's diner favored by the locals. It was later in the evening, we were hungry, and the options were limited, so we ate here. Comfort food -- chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, gravy, salad. It was hot and tasted good.

Ate there for the Steak and Shrimp dinner. Just plain good cooki'n-- Small hometown kind of restaurant but great salad bar, and prices you just won't believe. Dinner for two for less than $25 and really well prepared steak, shrimp, and veggies.

Only one waitress on a Saturday night, poor soul. We made allowances for the crowd, but sadly the kitchen got all three orders wrong and even the soup was room temperature. Bath room was filthy and there was no toilet paper. We ate parts of the meals and left hungry.

We had dinner here one night and everything was so good. Good value, good service. Homemade desserts and they always have a special. I tried the Bull Fries and wow, my first time to eat these and they were great. Next morning we has time to kill so stopped in for coffee and had to try the homemade cinnamon rolls.... More
