Best Bread Pudding ... Ever!

We took the 1880's train from Keystone to Hill city, in time for lunch. Locals had recommended we try this place out. I don't know how they do it, but I'm glad I got to eat here. It is everything the others say it is. Just be sure to get in line no later than 4:45 for dinner or be prepared to wait for 2 hours. The house wine is a good value.

The dinner is an incredible value and offers only two options - a 6 oz. filet for $9.99 or a 10 oz. filet for $11.99, both with a lettuce wedge with ranch dressing, a baked potato, and Texas toast. The filets were butter soft and delicious and the sides were fine. Just remember, however, that the restaurant makes its money... More

Lunches, specials & specialty-made desserts are wonderful. Waitstaff are usually quite thorough, but atmosphere can be quite hectic when large groupds arrive.

The Alpine Inn only serves Filet Mignon and a Veggie entree. Four of us had the Filet. You get a salad with their homemade dressing. It was great. The steaks were a bit over done for our liking, but the flavor was there and great. You also get potato and toast. The dessert menu is super large. Wine and beer... More

The food here is consistantly good. They have a special every day, they special tends toward the german/polish trend. When we went last time, it was stuffed cabbage. Be aware, this is a limited menu!! At lunch you have a choice of several sandwiches. At dinner, it is a basic of prime rib and salad. Also, when we were there,... More

Not the fanciest nor pricy just good food for a fair price. Enjoyed a filet with nice baked potato, salad and many good dessert options. Expect a wait for seating.

Ordering is easy--it's either a 6oz. or 9oz. filet with sides or a spaetzle with sauteed veggie (which I ordered & it was yummy!). We were there with our kids at 5:30 on a Monday & had to wait about 30 minutes. If you do wait, they have a good selection of german beers at the bar. All of our... More

My husband and I have eaten here a few times for dinner and it never disappoints. They have their steak dinners offered at night and they do it up right. If you have room for it, their desserts are also very good. Enjoy!
