Our food & drinks from the bar were impeccable. This is a large well run German restaurant with just 3 choices for dinner. I had the filet dinner for $9.95 with salad, bread & potato. If I lived here, I would eat here weekly. Large portions & excellent service. They know what they are doing & execute perfectly!

We had heard a lot about the restaurant- the dinner is either the 6 oz bacon wrapped filet for 9.95 or the 9 oz for 11.95; baked potato, toast and salad wedge included. We got there just a little before they opened at 5 PM and were lucky enough to get in right away. If you get there after 5,... More

We stayed in Hill City for a few days and worked our way through the top rated restaurants. Alpine Inn was good, but there are better dinners in town. If you are in the mood for the single entree they offer, you might be in luck. The bacon wrapped filet was better than average, and the baked potato was very... More

My husband and I ate dinner at the Alpine Inn in Hill City, South Dakota. We had the 6 ounce filet mignon with a baked potato, salad and Texas toast. The fillet mignon was perfectly cooked to order. We also had dessert, a strawberry sundae and creme Brulé. Our whole meal was excellent, and the fillet mignon dinner is only... More

We loved the food and the prices were excellent. We did have to wait to get a table and then the lady missed our name, saying she called it and we did not come. As we were sitting right there, we were not happy. The meal made up for all this though.

This restaurant was recommended to us by several locals. At night there are two offerings on the menu - stake and the German offering. They do have a vegetarian option as well. We started with a wedge salad. The ranch salad dressing was a bit weak, but overall it was fine. The bacon wrapped steak was cooked just the way... More

Good steak dinner in a nice atmosphere. Be aware that they only offer wine and beer. Also, Alpine Inn only takes CASH or check.

We were a party of six and chose this restaurant last minute. This was partly due to seeing all the people start lining up for their 5:00 p.m. opening. I quickly did my own Trip Advisor review and saw positive reviews so we decided to try it. We were all pleasantly surprised to get seated very quickly and to have... More

You dinner menu consists of two items. A ribeye steak (either 6 oz. or 9 oz.) or german dumplings. That's it! Lettuce wedge with their own ranch dressing. Steak came with baked potato and bread. One of the best steaks I have had. If you go be there early. Opens at 5 PM for dinner. We got there at 4:50 PM... More

The every night special is always steak-- bacon wrapped filet, 6 oz. $9.95; 9 oz. $11.95. It comes with wedge salad, baked potato and bread. Really good and well prepared. We hadn't seen a deal like this in years-- especially in a white table cloth, fine restaurant. Their lunch menu includes German specialties, but dinner is steak. (There is a... More
