We are big fans of steak places. But you rarely expect a restaurant in a resort area would offer such a high quality cut of meat at such a reasonable price. This is like paying Outback Steakhouse prices for a quality meal! Since steak is all that's on the dinner menu: if you like steak, eat here. It's a no-brainer.

This places is The Place to go for steak lovers. A 9oz filet for $9.95 is an amazing deal and it was a great steak as well. Can't imagine how they do it. The menu is simple, a 6 or 9 oz filet. That's it! (There is a vegetarian entre available.)

Tenderloin, wedge salad, baked potato and 2 pieces of Texas Toast all for under $12 per plate. Awesome food great deal, bring cash because they don't take credit cards. The desert menu is also very good. Get there before 5:30 pm or you will have at least an hour wait. but it is well worth the wait. Derito

No decisions to make here. Menu is a Filet or vegetarian. My wife and I spit the large one and had plenty to eat. Steak was done to perfection. Splurged on two desserts for seven of us and still took some back to the Lodge

I was fortunate enough to have dinner at the Alpine Inn on May 1, 2015. I ordered the 11 oz filet mignon, it came perfectly cooked @medium, and it preceded the wonderfully simple lettuce wedge salad. The steak came with potato and texas toast. The meal was wonderful and we paired it with some nice red house wine. For dessert... More

My last review was published without being completed and I couldn't retract it - my bad. This is a continuation. We just were not impressed. The wedge of lettuce was drenched - totally - in dressing, the Texas toast was soggy, the baked potato was really a steamed potato, and the steaks had absolutely no taste to them. The house... More

the decor is charming and the dinner was perfect. We were sat in a romantic little corner perfect for the two of us. Would go back when I'm back in the hills!

We were there off-season (early May) but people were still lining up at 4:30 for dinner. We missed the sign about the restaurant not accepting credit cards, so come prepared to pay in cash. The vegetarian option for dinner the night were were there was pasta with vegetables. It had a ton of garlic on it, but it was still... More

The dinner menu at the historic Alpine Inn in Hill City, SD is simple-filet mignon, 6 or 9 ounces, with the trimmings-salad, baked potato, and toast. It is prepared and served to perfection! The dining rooms are beautifully and appropriately decorated with a nod to the history of the building and the region. Our service was excellent and the steaks... More
