Terrific food at a good price. This was the cheapest meal we had on our Black Hills vacation. My wife loved the beef and vegetable soup. The service was good.

My husband and I have enjoyed eating breakfast there several times during our summer stay in the hills. It is a great value and good food.

I stopped in for a beer and a bite to eat, unfortunately, I didn't understand it was a self-service bar and grill. I went to the bar and got my own beer, heisted a menu off an abandoned table and waited for a waitress, busboy, bartender, dishwasher, anyone who cared to take my order. If the food is as good... we stayed in Hill City for 2 nights and this was the place we ate at the night before we left. The food was amazing! I ordered a buffalo mixed with Elk burger and it was fantastic! It was not over priced. Thank you to our waitress Michelle H for making it a great experience! She recommended everything that we... More

Finally found a nice place - Food was very good & reasonably priced! Plus there was parking. Service was pretty good-we were there for a late lunch and we really enjoyed the apple pie!

Best breakfast! Pancakes are a must-try. I think this place is popular with the locals, which is also a good sign. Perfect start to a day of sightseeing!

Dinner here was pleasing to taste and budget. One member of our party had prime rib special with salad and potato for $16, which reportedly was the best she ever had. Another had the buffalo burger cooked precisely to order. I had the buffalo and elk burger that was so big I shared 1/2with my husband who had soup and... More

Dinner starts at 4 here. We walked in at 4:10 to a dinner menu. Everything was over $10 except chicken fingers. We were never offered the specials which were reasonable and came with more sides. Maybe just the locals are offered the specials? My husband got the chicken fried steak and said it was good. I will admit the gravy... More

Slate Creek offers great locally roasted coffee in a variety of blends. We love their espresso as well as the campfire blend and brew them regularly at home. Their food is also fast and decent and service is consistently good.

Stopped by to eat breakfast but too late (11:15 am) so we ate lunch. Chickenfried steak and Burger were good, couldn't eat all of it (burp). Service was good and because there was only three tables with people, it was fast and hot. Price was not bad and we enjoyed the meal. Parking appears to be an issue as it... More
