They have a fun and free wine tasting area. Think elderberry, apple and rhubarb wines. Not the classic fine wines (they have a couple of these, but the price is high for the quality). The Rhubarb wine was a favorite. Very nice balance of tartness to the sweet. Food is casual and nicely done. Had the grilled turkey with sundried... More

We enjoyed the wine tasting (and especially enjoyed that they were free as opposed to another winery we visited down the road...). Our server was extremely knowledgeable about the wines, the production and Prairie Berry history. It is worth your time to stop. They have a great menu and a shady patio to enjoy your food on.

We've been to Napa a few times and this place could easily fit in right with them (oh, and the tastings are free so they get a leg up IMO). The wines were great too.... Who'd have thought in SD. So.....what in the world is with this area and flies?? This is the third meal we tried to eat on... More

The wine tasting was so much fun. We had dinner out on the patio and had fresh mushroom pizza-the best pizza I have had! Love their Red Rhubarb wine!

Wine fans should definitely make a point of visiting Prairie Berry while in the Keystone area. We each were able to select up to five wines to sample, and our server was very friendly and knowledgeable about each one. Don't miss the Red A** Rhubarb!

This was a nice stop to visit as we traveled through Hill City. The staff was very friendly and helpful. A wine tasting for 5 of our personally selected choices was offered free of charge. This was a pleasant surprise. But unfortunately, we were not particularly partial to any of the wines. If you like sweet or dessert wines you'll... More

Started back in the late 1800's you are tasting wines from family recipes with a direct link to the brewmaster. She has a taste for the berries. Since grapes weren't real plentiful in the Black Hills, you are tasting all the natural fruits, rhurbarb, raspberries, elderberries, chokecherries, if you know the plants of the Black Hills, they have fermented them.... After our 2.5 hour train ride we went to lunch and a wine taste at Prairie Berry Winery. We ate lunch first which was fabulous. We ordered many different items so all 6 of us could share. We ordered a chicken/bacon pizza which came out on a bread that was terrific. We ordered a muffelata (New Orleans Style Italian Sandwich)... More
