A good stop if you have a winery in mind...

This is probably the most successful winery in the area, and I stop here about once a year. I'm a fan of California wines, especially reds from the Russian River area and Central Coast. I think these South Dakota wines are OK. I usually end up buying the "RedAss Rhubarb" as it has won some... read more

We stopped here based on the billboards adverting their Red As* Wine. They have clever names for their products. The shop was really nice and sold a lot of different things. I bought 6 different types of wine based on my ability to taste for FREE up to 6 different wines. The people who were pouring the wine and explaining... More

Very pretty and well organized winery. You must go there if you like to visit such places. They have a tasting bar, they have food and they have gifts to buy (besides the wine ! ).

I was afraid that "fruit based wine" was code for "syrupy sweet," but was pleasantly surprised by the sophisticated taste and brought home a case. You can taste five wines for free and the informal restaurant provided sophisticated, light fare.

My first time wine tasting! Employees were very helpful! Selected 5 wines I would like to try. Employee Rachel numbered them from sweetest to driest. She described each before I tasted it. The wine included locally-grown berries and rhubarb! Afterwards we stayed for lunch, and the weather was so nice that we ate outside. A great visit!

The wine was good, and so were some of the staff who offered my 3 year old pretzels and engaged him while he got increasingly bored..and so did we. Our server at the bar (the only one) was engaging a couple for a wine tasting, for about 20 minutes before she even came over to us. She apparently wasn't finished... More

Hi Gabriella, Thank you for providing feedback on your recent visit to Prairie Berry Winery. We’re incredibly sorry for your experience and are embarrassed for what happened. You’re right, you shouldn’t have experienced such a long wait at the Tasting Bar. We apologize that not enough staff members were available to provide the attention that your tasting deserved. As for... More

My husband and I enjoyed the complimentary wine tasting (3 wines each) and also a delicious late lunch. The winery staff was very friendly and helpful with our lunch suggestions. If it's nice weather, enjoy a bowl of soup or gourmet sandwich on their terrace with a glass of wine over looking the Black Hills. Don't miss this delightful stop!

Immediately when entering the winery we were greeted and guided through the sampling process! We felt welcome right away!! Usually when my daughter and I walk into any place we are usually overlooked for more "wealthy" clientele. We felt so awesome we stayed for the food which was DIVINE! Definitely make this a stop every time you come to Hill... More

We decided to go for a beer/wine tasting at this Restaurant/Brewery. The wine tasting was excellent, with a very knowledgeable wine server. We found a few new favorites. Then we saw the food menu, and ordered the Cold Cut Tray. My Partner ordered a Sandwich as well, but we found that the Cold Cuts, plus a half loaf or their... More

I am a wine person and whenever we go to a different city that has a winery, I have to visit and taste. Stopped here and was not disappointed. Wish we would've had lunch here instead of at another place in town because it looked so much better. But did do a tasting and walked out with four bottles to... More
