The restaurant was average size and busy at dinner time on a Thursday night so my family and I had about a 20 minute wait since we were a large party of 7. The servers and owner were friendly and we didn't have long to wait for our food. I had a buffalo burger here and it was my first... More

Looking for a place for a reasonably priced good meal, and cold beer. Stopped into Desparados...about 5:00 PM. Just starting to get busy. Was a pleasant surprise to be greeted by the owner, who introduced himself as Dan... Seated us and said he would rustle up someone to wait on us.....He was warm and sincere, and made us feel that... The food was pretty good, but service was scattered. I didn't get my food the way I ordered it quite. The prices were a little higher than average we thought.

I love the ambiance of this restaurant. Dan has put together a marvelous staff and the menu ROCKS!! I particularly LOVE the buffalo roast...and the buffalo steak is also amazing. Desserts are pretty darn good as well. A bit on the pricer side, but it is well worth it!! My only regret is that he is open seasonally and closed... More

While riding Harley's through SD, we were looking for a place to eat. We didn't think much of it from the outside but were pleasantly surprised when we walked in. The servers were friendly and the atmosphere was great. The food was some of the better food we had in SD

My husband and I ate here last night and had a good experience. I had salmon, which was a little overcooked for my taste; my husband had the buffalo burger, which he said was very good. It appeared that buffalo is their specialty. The host and our server were warm and welcoming. Price was right. Served wine and beer.

a warm welcome as you enter the restaurant. alert and obliging waitress. the building comes with great history of the past and the atmosphere hovers a feel of a western setting. the lights over the seating areas are accented with ceramic cowboy hats, take note of the western boot counter weight that enables the door to close after entry and... Our kids wanted to go back there again and again. Everything we ordered there was good. Friendly service and relaxed atmosphere inside.

Salad (an extra cost) was just endive. A medium well sirloin steak was tough and dry. Smashed potatoes and gravy had a gummy texture and weren't flavorful. But server was very attentive and helpful. Seemed to care that we weren't happy with our meals. However, we probably won't return.

We stopped in for dinner on our recent vacation. We were greeted and seated by the owner who was very welcoming. Our waiter was good and helpful. We had buffalo burgers which our waiter recommended to have cooked "medium". Burgers were good and food was served quickly. Loved reading the history of the building. Owner thanked us when we left.... More
