Cool place, good food. GREAT buffalo burgers. The live performer was entertaining though seemed a little loud at times. Glad we ate inside as the menu was better and not quite as loud. Hostess seemed annoyed though our server was great and attended to every request quickly and with a smile. Would not hesitate to go here again.

pure Black Hills gold.. The chance to spend an afternoon in the Stockade listening to Yancy de Veer and solving the problems.. Or forgetting the problems of the world . An excellent venue to hearthe extraordinary Mr Yancy sing his authentically wester ballads and hear his snappy Bon mots . he actually played Carniege Hall in Nooo York and you... More

This is actually "The Stockade". An outside casual eating place, with a very limited bar menu. But Yancey deVeer, the in-house live entertainment there, makes it a fun place to go. The food is mediocre at best, and the service can be spotty, but you don't go there for the food. Yancey's presence makes it one step above "average" (of... More

We Have been going to Deadwood SD each summer since 2002 and a must stop for me and my wife Jane is to see Jancey de Veer perform at the Buffalo Bar. Jancey is a top song writers and performer. His songs always tell a story and if you are honest apply to a lot of us. He has a... More

Family ordered the pot roast and blue steak, both good, salads were sparse. I had a BLT that was tasty. The bloody Mary's were good. We had a good local beer, pile o dirt, as a chaser.

We had planned to eat lunch across the street at "Saloon #10" while visiting Deadwood but the menu was limited and they seemed short staffed. We ate lunch at "The Stockade" instead. The atmosphere was fun and the live entertainment was good. The hostess that seated us seemed sick and was not at all friendly but the waiter we had... More

We spent most of our spare time while in Deadwood at the Bodega Bar. We thought it was called the Stockade. We ate dinner there once, and ordered the chicken fingers. They were overdone and dry. But as usual Yancey was entertaining. We have been to Deadwood 3 times now, and twice Yancey was there. He is funny, sarcastic, and... More

The place had that appeal as we were walking by. The atmosphere was fun and inviting. The menu looked great. Ordered the whiskey steak which the waitress recommended. It was super stringy. The sauce was good, but also everything cane out lukewarm. As if it had been sitting in the window too long. My wife had the steak tips which... More

Fun enough setting, can bring kids during the day. My husband ordered prime rib, it was not worth what we paid for but it is a tourist town so we expected that. I ordered a buffalo burger that was quite tasty but the french fries tasted liked they were left over from the day prior, all the salt had been... More
