Just OK sums it up, but a real "local" experience". Won't tell you not to go and that says a lot for me.

Great burger, decent service and didn't wait too long. We stopped on a Saturday, at lunch, during bike week. I thought we had made a big mistake because of the large crowd but were pleasantly surprised at how organized they were. We had our food within 10 minutes of ordering. Can't wait to go back.

I don't know the secret recipe but have been told they add sugar to their beef before cooking it. I don't know if it's true but it is amazing!

If you want to fill your gut, and got $10.00 - $13.00 to spend on burger fires and a soda, this may be the place for you. Stopped by here twice with family on our way out to the lake had a Bubba Burger the first time and stuck to the Chilli fries the second. The Bubba Burger was good,... More

I ordered an 8 oz steak "cooked they way you like it". The salad for $3.00 was OK but when the steak finally arrived it was about the size of 4 quarters. Well done rather than the medium rare I requested. Looked like it had been microwaved. The chips were soggy and the Texas toast was to cold bits of... More

We came in the door and the owner complained that 'we were ruining THEIR Black HIlls'. We were UTV riders. She complained loudly to herself but, we overheard her. I would say that the Sugar Shack gets a lot of business FROM UTV/ATV riders, out of state visitors, and to say such a thing makes us feel unwelcome and we... More

One of the few places open as we drove, and when we walked inside I thought, well, maybe not the placed we wanted to stop at...but were we wrong...it IS the place to stop if you want the best burger ever! Although a little small for seating purposes and thank goodness we arrived before the crowd, because we were pleasantly... More
