While visiting my grand kids in Brookings they know I like hamburgers. So, they took me to Nick's and it was a great experience. Dozens of fresh, hand-patty burgers were grilling at the same time, then served on fresh home made little buns! Unbelievable flavor and fun. Even the little kids ate 2 or 3 hamburgers each since they are... More

I visited Brookings, SD on business and quickly found that there were not too many food options available in town. I typically like to try unique and/or local eateries whenever I can. I found my way to Nick's Hamburgers and was delighted to do so. The atmosphere walking into Nick's is like going back in time. Of course it is... More

For the locals I suspect it's a bit different, but for a city slicker like me this place is an absolute gem. We were lucky enough to come when it wasn't packed. It is really old school dining. The sliders are greasy and amazing. The malt was on point. You're in, you're out, completely satisfied. Some may say the prices... More

These are not your everyday hamburgers fried in a skillet or on a grill, these are cooked in their own fatty juices and served on home made buns. A must try you either love them or don't

Nick's Hamburger Shop has been locally owned and operated since I was a kid. I returned to my hometown to see if things were the same. The setting is an old-fashioned stool-at- the-counter. The hamburgers draw people from all over including Dr. Joyce Brothers to name one. You can't quit eating them! Their homemade pies are great - truly homemade... More

Nicks burgers are known by anyone that has ever visited Brookings. Delicious little burgers cooked just the way you like and right as you order. Dont forget to grab a piece of homeade pie and wash it all down with a milkshake. When my grandpa went to school in Brookings he would go and I hope Nicks will someday serve... More

This place has it's following and it is fun to go to but the burgers are a bit disappointing. Basically the burger is deep fried in its own grease. They are then served with relish onion and mustard. Tasty but not all that satisfying. Next time I'm in town I'll look for a real burger

Quaint little burger joint with a hometown feel. A bit overcrowded during meal times. If you haven't ever visited, it is a must.

This is the first time we are disappointed with Nick's. Seems it has changed after Tom no longer manages it. The burgers were smaller than I could remember. Sad how this has changed.

As always, the food is excellent. The building is pretty small with very little seating. Also, the burgers are small so make sure you order plenty!
