Tiny European style bistro

116 is a narrow little restaurant that packs in a lot. Warm and cozy with a surprisingly spacious bar, I always feel like I'm in some little hideaway in France when I eat there. Visited 116 State St for dinner on Tuesday night. First off, go to the back parking lot to park. There's plenty of room. The food was very good, not excellent but very good. The fish bouillabaisse was a nice starter at only $5.00. The crab cakes were a little disappointing, more cake than crab. The cheese plate was a very... More

I had my first meal at 116 State Street in the company of nine friends, so between us, we had most of the brunch menu. We would all say that we had good food, good drinks, and good service. We started with two of the featured pastries, the blueberry cream cheese croissant and the cinnamon roll. They were delicious and... More

Been there many times but only for brunch and also drinks and is a mixed bag.It all depends on the waiter.During brunch always running out of menu options. Some wait staff are very attentive and some not so much. That also is true for the hostess to be seated- you need to keep count and watch who arrived before or after you... Had my first date with my fiance at 116. He took me back to propose (actually proposed at home after). Atmosphere, wine and food are fantastic.Very cozy, reasonably priced, not overly pretentious spot across the river.

I have been here on three occasions, once for brunch, once for dinner, and one time just for drinks. The dinner was phenomenal and the specialty drinks are to die for. Everyone was extremely friendly and attentive, EXCEPT for the brunch visit. We waited thirty minutes or so to be seated in the extremely cramped and loud dining room. It... More

Great place for brunch or for dinner. Food is always tasty with unusual dishes and combinations of flavors that make each dish memorable. Service is great. It's a quirky, noisy little place but they always make us feel comfortable and cared for. Prices are very reasonable. If you haven't tried it, you are missing one of Columbia's gems.

This is the best restaurant in Columbia - first class food, spectacular service, and friendly atmosphere. The nightly specials are the chef's creations, and they are unusual and always good.

We enjoyed an excellent Sunday brunch at 116. It is smallish and obviously popular, so we waited 20 minutes for a table, but it was worth the wait. There were some usual dishes (steak and eggs) as well as unusual (sweet potato pancakes). All of us enjoyed our food and the price was very reasonable.
