Great Southern Buffet

Although we have visited this town several times in the past 11 years, we have always stopped here to eat and always had the buffet. It is a good value at $10 and always has a large salad bar, banana pudding, fried chicken, corn-bread stuffing and great home-made biscuits. There are always at... read more

Want a great Breakfast or tasty lunch...go to the Olde House Café on Bells Highway in Walterboro, SC? This family owned and operated Café is friendly, convenient, and economical with incredibly good food, cooked Southern Home Style. The café is in an old converted house, thus the name, and it is manned by good local people who are contributors to... More

We pass through Walterboro several times a year going to Edisto Beach or Charleston. We always stop here going and coming home. The buffet is great and everything I've ordered off the menu is also good! Great service! One of the best restaurants in the low country!

The staff at this restaurant are amazing. The food is ok. I stopped merely based on the reviews. I was a little disappointed. I would stop again for the down-home appeal of the establishment, but there are better places around that location for food quality. The cost is low. Family of four (3 adults, 1 child), for under 40 bucks... More

We commute to Florida from Tennessee 2 or 3 times a year and ALWAYS try to plan at least one meal at the Olde House Cafe. Good salad bar and GREAT Southern food on the buffet. Best fried chicken ever! Good desserts always. They have a menu but we always do the buffet. If you're traveling and want some good... More

We stopped here for dinner after a long day of driving. We decided to order off the menu rather than eat the buffet. I ordered the seafood platter which was good and my wife ordered the fish plate. It included a trip to the salad bar which was also good. The fried squash was the best ever. The items were... More

Very disappointing. We went about 4:30 expecting the food to be fresh for the dinner crowd. What a mistake! There were mashed potatoes that were dry and brown appearing to be burnt, the white rice was dry and hard, needing to be re-cooked, the Salisbury steak, if that's what it was supposed to be, was essentially Alpo patties in gravy,... Very good home style buffet. If buffet is not for you, they also have a very nice variety on their menu. We enjoy dining here.

This is a quaint little cafe. You have a choice of ordering off of the menu or their buffet which had a lot of southern favorites such a fried chicken. One complaint.. the salad greens were shredded like cabbage in a coleslaw instead of nice large pieces. I ordered off the menu and the chicken was very good. nice and... More

We just got back from this Restaurant. After a long day of driving, I looked up Olde House Cafe on Trip Advisor and based on the reviews, we decided to try it. Wrong decision! Normally I overlook a few bad comments because you can't please everyone. This is one time where you definitely have to look at the dissenter's reviews.... More
