Very Good Local Business

We stopped here for dinner after a long day of driving. We decided to order off the menu rather than eat the buffet. I ordered the seafood platter which was good and my wife ordered the fish plate. It included a trip to the salad bar which was also good. The fried squash was the best ever. The... read more

Very disappointing. We went about 4:30 expecting the food to be fresh for the dinner crowd. What a mistake! There were mashed potatoes that were dry and brown appearing to be burnt, the white rice was dry and hard, needing to be re-cooked, the Salisbury steak, if that's what it was supposed to be, was essentially Alpo patties in gravy,... Very good home style buffet. If buffet is not for you, they also have a very nice variety on their menu. We enjoy dining here.

This is a quaint little cafe. You have a choice of ordering off of the menu or their buffet which had a lot of southern favorites such a fried chicken. One complaint.. the salad greens were shredded like cabbage in a coleslaw instead of nice large pieces. I ordered off the menu and the chicken was very good. nice and... More

We just got back from this Restaurant. After a long day of driving, I looked up Olde House Cafe on Trip Advisor and based on the reviews, we decided to try it. Wrong decision! Normally I overlook a few bad comments because you can't please everyone. This is one time where you definitely have to look at the dissenter's reviews.... More

Went here based on a recommendation from our hotel. Building looks to be a former home. The inside is nicely done with rustic wood floors and table and chairs. Had the buffet, while the selection was somewhat limited, the homemade quality made up for it. I had shrimp and grits, along with some great fried chicken as a highlight. Wait... More

This was a great place to stop on our way to Florida. We left Roanoke Rapids after breakfast and we got to Walterboro just before noon. We got off of 95 because we needed gas. After filling up we decided to have lunch but did not want to eat at any of the fast food joints and wanted something local.... More

We ate here because the recommended place, Dukes bbq, wanted $21 for their buffet, which was essentially overfried crap with no ribs.We passed this place on our way back and decided to stop. The buffet here is pretty good and only $11. They had ribs, which were well sauced if a bit gristly, and great fried chicken, as well as... More

Driving for 9 hours...wanted something different then fast food. Saw all the cars in parking lot... Very cute, clean old house. Did not like the buffet, but seems that was what everyone was getting. Ordered the chicken breast with white gravy. Thin cuts of chicken breast, breaded, crispy & sautéed. The gravy was a perfect sausage gravy. The hot roast... More
