Good food, interesting decor

I went to Poe's for dinner with a group of friends. We all enjoyed our food in this casual, but interesting restaurant. I was eating light so only had chips with chili con queso, but it was very good. The chips were nice and crunchy and the chili con queso was delicious.

We just love going to Poe's. We travel every year to Charleston and we always stop at Poe's at least once. It's just such a unique place. It's very close to the Sullivan's Island beach so it has kind of this feeling like a beach bar but it's not, really. It's more like a "theme" bar and grill with EAP... More

Wanted to try a new spot on our recent trip to Charleston area. Had saw where Poe's was voted "Best Burger in South Carolina" so wanted to add it to our stops. While I have not tried many other burger places in SC, I will say Poe's would be hard to beat! Fun atmosphere. Crowded as it was wonderful weather... More

Drove from our hotel in North Charleston to have a late dinner at Poe's with my family and two year old. The food was delicious - we had the shrimp and andouille quesadilla, the Pit and the Pendulum burger with applewood bacon and cheddar cheese, and the Annabelle Lee burger topped with a crab cake and remoulade... And an extra... More

Last night I had quite possibly the worst dining experience I've ever had at any restaurant in my life. I decided to splurge and eat out on a beautiful Sunday evening for dinner. We thought of great places near the ocean where we could enjoy the sun, breeze, and the day. Then, we considered places we don’t normally visit. Poe’s... More

We went to this cute little bar on Sullivans Island. The beer was good and cold. Can't tell you how the food was because I dont eat food that is served cold. Ordered a burger it arrived an hour later and was cold. My wife's burger was cold. My sister ordered a burger with a crabcake, interestingly enouth the crabcake... More

Poe's Tavern has a reputation for serving good food in a fun setting. Deservedly so. Went there with a friend this week. My first time. Had a mouthwateringly good burger w/a blue cheese-n-bacon slaw that was also quite tasty. And, especially given the location, the prices are surprisingly reasonable. The Edgar Allan Poe theme is pervasive, from the nicely done... More

We love Poe's. The food is always good, the beer selection is amazing and the servers are always helpful with suggestions. My husband loves their burgers, I love the fish/shrimp tacos. We always get an order of the chips, salsa and guacamole as an appetizer, and make sure not to miss their onion straws!

My husband and I decided to stop here after the rave reviews on trip advisor and weren't steered wrong. The place is small but accommodating. We chose to sit at the bar near the fire place. The food was excellent, My husband raved about the blue cheese coleslaw, and is dying for it again already. They have several speciality burgers,... More
