It was our anniversary and we made reservations for Friday night in the formal dining room. The atmosphere is just right, very nice space. (The interior/millwork, etc., was made in Europe especially for this space and shipped over and installed on site). The wait staff was very lively and attentive, just well done. I had the "Thinly Sliced Milk Fed... More

Came back to Gerhard's Cafe for the first time after about 10 years. Nothing much has changed, even the menu pretty much looks the same. Elk Rouladen were somewhat on the dry side. Thinly sliced veal with mushroom gravy and Spätzle was very good. Only place in Spartanburg that has Weihenstephaner Weissbier on tap. Prices are above average...

This was our first visit to Gerhard's Cafe and it was great! We will definitely be back. I had the veal and my wife had the seafood fettuccine, and both were excellent choices. It's expensive, but worth every penny. The atmosphere was great as well. We sat outside and had a great time.

My trip there was by chance. I had a different place in mind but this was recommended as something "different". I was with a party of 4, so we gave it a try. Our hostess was Jaime and she was pleasant, courteous and patient - even checking more then once to see if the bar had the kind of drink... More

We have eaten here many times over the years, and it has always been a pleasure. This is a place to come to enjoy a leisurely meal. You are meant to linger, not rush in and be on a deadline. Rarely have we had issues with service, and if any issues arose, the staff is very quick to correct it.... More

As you enter this restaurant you smell the bread baking and the aroma of steaks and veal being prepared ... Had the veal slices with wild mushroom gravy and spatzle ...Yumm and of course a few glasses of cold weiss bier to wash it down ... My friend go the farmers platter and it was enough food for 3 meals... More

My girlfriend and I went to Gerhard's for an impromptu Monday 'date night'. As expected the restaurant was quiet, and we were directed to sit anywhere we wanted. The atmosphere and decor in the restaurant is great. A very 'old world' vibe with open fireplaces, bookshelves, and lots of dark wood. The menu is not the straight German we were... More

Good grief ~ what's not to like at Gerhard's! Formal or casual dining....from Ostrich to fish & chips.....and it's all so well prepared & nicely presented. Gerhard's is a fun local hang out, an excellent business venue, and the perfect special event dining experience!

My wife and I grew up in Spartanburg, and while we have been away for many years, keep coming back routinely to visit family. We had never tried Gerhard's before, but decided on a recent visit to give it a try. We expected the usual heavy food one finds at a German restaurant, but were pleasantly surprised by the abundance... More

Great food with mixture of Austrian/German and Southern comfort foods. Food was well prepared and tasty. The fried grits cakes were a real treat. Several styles of eating areas from formal dining to dim wood paneled pub to open airy area and an outdoor patio. Service was great. Wide selection of wines and beers. A little pricey but well worth... More
