Comfort Food

Wades is a place that you can go home to for the best comfort food. We always stop in Wades when we are visiting Columbia. The food is consistent and the staff is always so nice. My mom even orders all of our family Easter and Thanksgiving meals from here.

We stopped here following an afternoon at Panther's Training Camp. It was about 6 pm, and there was a short wait, but the line moved very quickly. The menu was more limited than we expected in the way of entrees, but there was still something for everyone. The kids ordered hamburger steak with cheese. I had the beefy noodle casserole... More

Sweet potatoes are too sweet because of the topping. Rice and gravy is bland. Flounder, shrimp and mac/cheese are good. Atmosphere is nice and family oriented. A little slow to be seated. If you can't climb stairs, be sure to park around near the lower side of the restaurant and enter through that door.

Great place to eat. Whether you sit and dine or you go through the line where you can get all the veggies you want - you cannot go wrong here. Lines are always long but seated much quicker than you think and food is served very quickly. Peanut butter pie is amazing!

Nothing beats Wades for home style cooking! The fried chicken, turkey/dressing, and tuna salad are my favorites. The veggies are fantastic as well. Not sure if macaroni and cheese is a veggie, but it's the best I've ever had.

We have been here often but this time we took friends visiting with us from Johnson City, TN. They agreed......we are jealous we don't have a Wade's in JC, TN. The food is always consistent and there is a good variety. Very reasonable on price and the service is always very good. You can get a plate with meat and... More

Visiting family in SC and we went to Wade's for lunch . I had the turkey and stuffing with okra and turnip greens. Now mind you I'm a Yankee but I've been coming to the South for the 20 years of my marriage. Awesome meal!! Turnip greens were perfectly cooked, the turkey was moist and the stuffing excellent . Okra... More

I had the turkey and dressing with mashed potatoes and creamed corn. The service was very quick and the food was hot but the taste was bland. The turkey was mushy as though it was siting in liquid for quite a while, the potatoes we homemade and good as was the creamed corn. The rolls were cold and dry so... More

Food is OK. Usually the vegetables that Spartanburgers rave about are hardly recognizable. Overcooked to the extreme. Fried chicken is pretty good. IF you are looking for a standard Southern Meat and Three, Wades is the place. If you are looking for really good Southern food, this is not the place. The famous yeast rolls are way too yeasty and... More

Have visited this restaurant for many years. Basic meat & three. OK, but I can't name a particular item that stands out. Portions have shrank as prices have gone up. Usually have to wait in a line unless you go through the express line. Cannot understand why debit or credit cards still are not are accepted, but there is a... More

Hi! I hate to hear that you aren't delighted by our food selections at our restaurant, but I did want to address a few point from your review. We do not lower our portion sizes in response to a price increases. We have actually increased some of them over the years, such as our Turkey and Dressing, and Baked Ham.... More
