There's commercial Italian which we've all eating and there's this place. This REALLY Italian food and maybe dishes you're not familiar with. Never had a bad dish here. It's always a special occasion when I come here even if it's not. Bread basket is great but don't load up (hard not to) because the food's excellent and you don't want... More

My husband and I went to La Taverna with friends to celebrate a birthday. While the interior could use a little sprucing up. We had the Chicken Piccata, Chicken Parmigiana and Salmon Al Limone and let me tell you it was delicious. The portions were large and price was reasonable. The staff was attentive without being overbearing. I would recommend... More

We were celebrating my wife's birthday with friends and wanted to try some Italian. I had read the reviews and they looked good. We had a reservation for Sunday evening and were seated right away. Our waitress was very friendly and explained the menu. She brought out an excellent bread and the bruschetta appetizer was perfect. The salads were tasty... More

Hunted down restaurant in the Dorman Center after a neighbor recommended. For lunch chose one of the chicken specials served with spaghetti in a wonderful lemon sauce and a house-made Stromboli, both served with freshly baked bread. Stromboli (filled with pepperoni spiced just right, ham, salami, and lots of cheese) covered my plate and was perfect with house-made marinara sauce.... More

I've never had better chicken fettuccine alfredo anywhere else in my entire life! The sauce is incredible, rich, & creamy. The portion size is huge. I always add mushrooms & garlic to my dish & it's absolute perfection!

We went to La Taverna for lunch on a recent stay in Spartanburg. We has bruschetta for an appetizer, and it was enjoyable. The tomatoes were fresh, and the bread was well toasted. We also enjoyed the breadsticks that came after we ordered lunch--hot and fresh from the oven, with oil and balsamic vinegar on the table for dipping. For... More

La Taverna is one of my favorite restaurants and I cook a lot of Italian at home. A lot of food for the price and delicious. Wine and warm bread are the bonus highlights.

My husband and I frequent La Taverna and have never had any problems with Chef Rosario or the food. Chef Rosario strikes me as a man that does not put up with crap, and I like that about him. He seems very reasonable and is always polite when we come in. The food is top notch. If you eat at... More
