A dive with the best "Redneck cheeseburger" in town and a surprising number of good beers on tap. people have used Tripadvisor as a way to say the Chick Fil A is one of the best restaurants in town while the Nu Way isn't even on the list. It's awful!

Great Pub Fare in Spartanburg, SC

My wife and I recently moved to Spartanburg, SC, from Ohio, and during our first week here we visited the Nu-Way for dinner one evening. I had lived in Spartanburg approximately 30-years ago, and I visited the Nu-Way often then, and not much had changed in the décor… it is not a show place, just a... read more

Excellent greasy-spoon food! Great crowd and sometimes you can catch an awesome band! Be prepared to be packed in, as it is a small place.

If you are looking for a run-down local pub with good bar food then this is your spot. Very casual atmosphere with friendly patrons and staff

Went there and ordered the Redneck Cheeseburger. People rave about this and it actually is wonderful. It has homemade pimento cheese as an ingredient and this may just be what makes it so good. Atmosphere is not much in this place but people are friendly. Fun place to get a burger!

Like your hamburgers? Then you don't want to miss the Nu-Way. You won't get any better anywhere near Spartanburg! They have a lot of unusual variations, or get it your way. Sides are variable in quality. The place doesn't look impressive from the outside, and is no great shakes inside either, but don't let that stop you. The quintessential old... More

Sometimes you have to try out a joint or a dive just to tell your friends that you've had the experience. The problem with Nu-Way is that you'll have a good time and get great food. It won't be just a one time event. It looks sketchy on the outside, but you'll be warmly welcomed inside. The Redneck Cheeseburger really... More

Fun to visit the Nu-Way after reading reviews in magazines. Had a great burger. Learned that the joke about "red stripe beer" really is slang for Pabst's Blue Ribbon. If the waiter asks if you want your burger "all the way" she does not mean rare or well...she means "do you want about 10 toppings"! So don't say yes until... More

We stopped here yesterday on a poker run.. I ordered hot dogs, onion rings, and drinks.. The hot dogs came not right, the onion rings were anything but that (they need to get some lessons from the clock on onion rings). They were horrible.. regardless of that and the fact the hot dogs weren't made right, I still took a... More

Based on George Singleton's recommendation in Garden & Gun, we headed over to the Hub City tonight to checkout Nu-Way and were not disappointed! The burgers and dogs were just delish, not sure I've ever had a better burger. The flavor reminded me of the small Southern town cafes of my childhood, where house-made chili was served on every burger.... More
