The BEST "Food for the Soul " we have ever had! The fried chicken was hot, crisp, moist and beyond delicious. I had the cornbread, homemade, moist and wonderful. The mashed potatoes and gravy were as good as my mother ever made. My husband had the meatloaf with a side of mac and cheese and cabbage. We almost argued over his mac and cheese-it was so rich, creamy, and cheesy I wanted to eat all of it! The meatloaf was moist, tender, and full of flavor. Service was excellent and the cake we had for dessert was divine! This is a MUST stop for lunch and was locally rated "the best meat and 3 sides in the Upstate" and we believe it! This place will be a favorite of ours!

Great little restaurant in downtown Simpsonville

Fried squash, okra, mac and cheese, fish, meatloaf are all delicious. The desserts which are usually included with a meal are also good. The lemon pound cake is my favorite. Good home style cooking.

The people are friendly, the food is soul food at its best and the hearts of the proprietors really set this place apart (they give free hot meals to homeless).

I've only eaten here once and I'd heard a lot of good things, but I wasn't impressed with anything on my plate. The chicken was dry, none of the sides were great and service wasn't the best.

Imagine my surprise to find this great place in Simpsonville. I placed a phone order and the man was so helpful and friendly. I loved the clean charming environment. As if by magic a lady appeared with my order. She was also friendly and efficient. I could not wait to get back to my shop to sample the goodies. Not... More

We've visited 3 or 4 times. I am so happy to know that if I want some good home, southern cooking, it's there & hopefully to stay. Awesome fried green tomatoes!!

Ate here on Sunday, March 1st. Had high hopes, but it failed miserably. A long wait for the food (and it was not crowded) and when we did get our food, two of the three were not what I had ordered. That with the fact that the country fried steak was actually fried mystery meat. The people were nice enough,... More

I had passed this place numerous times and finally decided to have lunch there. Although I've been disappointed with many of the meat and three restaurants I've tried in the past, I didn't expect this one to be much different. I was very pleasantly surprised with the selections on the menu and the quality of the food including freshness and... More

My family & I ate here earlier today. We have driven by many times & finally decided to try. The building itself is older which is fine. I ordered fried chicken & my husband had the country fried steak. My chicken was clearly cooked way before I ordered it, it was dried out & not fresh. The country fried steak... More

Located at the second space in the building at the corner of North Main and Curtis Street, it is far too easy to miss this little gem. Parking is either on the street on Curtis or in the spaces next to the bank. The food and the atmosphere are excellent. The meals consist of your typical meat and 3 southern... More

After reading some reviews, my son and I decided to give this place a try. At home and when we travel we love try restaurants, of all types. We enjoy a great steakhouse or a top notch diner, or a great pizza joint. So, here we go. We were greeted with friendly folks upon arrival and told to sit where... More
