Pretty good

We visited this restaurant on a family trip. The food was on the expensive side and there was no children's menu. Also. They were out of collards. I didn't care for the other sides and asked if i could substitute the two sides for one macaroni, but wasnt wasn't allowed to do so. The service was... read more

Food here is excellent, however, portions are small and food tends to be overpriced. We went here the other day and ordered the shark strips. The waitress brings us both shrimp dinners. When brought to her attention, we were told shark wasn't available for another month. So why in the world just bring us any random thing and not tell... More

I loved the crab soup, but my travel partner didn't. She also didn't care for the peach cobbler and I thought the sweet potato pie was too thick in its consistency.

Food is drastically over priced for a low rent dive. The helth inspector should close this place before it falls into the ally. Paid $16 for 4oz bowl of soup. Took 20 min to get drinks and another 20 to place an order. under staffed and over rated. Food tasted good but man it was way over priced for lunch.... More

My husband and I went for lunch on Sunday in March. It must be a slow time because we were the only people in the restaurant. My husband ordered some ribs and I ordered some fried shrimp. The ribs were tasty but tasted like they were cooked a few days before. My shrimp was fresh and had a nice fried... More

We did some historical research before visiting South Carolina, so when we drove past this place coming back from Hunting Island Lighthouse/beach, we jumped at the chance to eat there. Great Gullah food, terrific building and a constantly looping video highlighting folks such as Anthony Bourdain and Martha Stewart as they once visited the place. The service was great, all... More

My husband I ventured out to have a Gullah cultural experience on St. Helena Island. We stopped at Gullah Grub.... very disappointing. The food was over priced for the quality and quantity they served. I had the shrimp and potato salad. The 10 shrimp were small and 1/2 cup of potato salad (not even worth mentioning) $10.50. definitely not worth... More

Our host through AirBNB giggled when we mentioned having dinner at Gullah Grub, probably because the place is definitely priced too highly. We were some of the only people in the restaurant, and the others were not locals. The place is hot and has poor airflow as well as very poor ambiance and decoration. The exception would be the very... More
