The food is great and the prices reasonable! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I don't have any complaints.
We were surprised to find out that when you walk in, it is an "order at the window" kind of place. The parking lot was full, and they are only open for lunch! I wasn't excited about a fried shrimp basket, but it was the BEST, freshest tasting shrimp I have ever tasted! It seemed like a family owned/run business.... More
Shrimp burger and fries. Don't even look at the rest of the menu. Friendly folks. Do take out and go sit on the beach at Hunting Island.
We stopped because of many positive reviews and were not impressed. Shrimp is fresh, but everything else is coming out of a frozen food bag (chicken nuggets, etc.) Shrimp burger is atypical in that it is ground shrimp molded into a patty. Not the piles of popcorn shrimp and coleslaw that I am accustomed to...I'd drive a little farther unless... More
My husband and daughter raved about the shrimpburger while visiting Hunting Island this past summer so when we returned for Spring Break it was our first meal on the islands on our first day. Luckily we beat the lunch rush and ordered four of the best shrimpburgers anywhere!!! We plan to return at least two to three more times before... More
Pricey, small portions. This place used to be better. We had to reorder more food due to the small portions. Spent $60 for lunch for 2 adults and 2 kids. Red rice dry and flavorless. Hush puppies (their specialty) were good.
You would never guess how fantastic the food is here, by just driving by. So, forget the appearance, and go in and order a treat beyond belief. The shrimpburger is loaded with fresh caught local shrimp, and will make your tastebuds very happy. Also, order the sweet potato fries to go with it. We stop at the Shrimp Shack every... More
I enjoy this place. It's a lot smaller inside that it looks. You give your order at a window, they call you, and you go eat. I got the famed shrimp burger, which is alright if they lessened the mayonnaise and thinned the bun. Great sweet potato sticks. I'm a sucker for a sweet potato. I guess the fried shrimp... More
Yes, it is only a small restaurante on a highway to hunting island like a shrimp diner, who's expecting more!? we have found traditionally and authentic South Carolina shrimp food, quick, tasty and fresh. The shrimp boat located just across the street. And the value is really good if I compare to the shrimp festival prices and size. I will... More
The Shrimp Shack is a small restaurant, that wouldn't have caught our eye on a normal trip. But, something drew us there, to stop for lunch. And I am very glad that we did! Yes, the floorplan is small, but the food is excellent. If you go, we suggest you order "whatever seafood is fresh that day". My wife and... More
