My husband found out about this in a shrimp and grits book. When we arrived, there were car tags from all over the Eastern US. We stood in line for our famous shrimp burgers and were able to eat in the gazebo next door to the main building. The shrimp burgers were devised from shrimpers who ate them at sea.... More

Simple site and good fresh local fried seafood. Enjoyed the shrimp burger, a bit pricey for the size, but good tasting and delicious hush puppies. Crab cake was very good with fried shrimp. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys fresh fried seafood at a picnic table with cool salty breeze.

We read mixed reviews about this place. The most popular thing seems to be the shrimp burger. It is shredded shrimp that has been put in a patty and deep fried. I did not have it, but my friend did. She thought it was good. I had the flounder sandwich tartar sauce and I thought it was tasty. It was... More

I happened upon Shrimp Shack around 10 years ago and since then I've been thinking of the sweet potato sticks (not fries). Alas, I finally make it back and find out the manufacturer of those wonderful things went out of biz. So I tried the shrimp burger (my first ever) and I was back in love. I got the regular... More

If you are in the area and like seafood this is the place to go. The hours are different so make sure to find out when they are open before you go.

I just hate to have everything fried...especially shrimp that is local. This is a walk up and order at the window place. My fried shrimp plate was 9.25. It had 8 fried shrimp, 2 hush puppies, and 2 sides. I chose green beans and onion rings. It was sticky and hot...a low tech low place...but atmosphere good for a beachy... More

I was a little hesitant at first, after all it does have the word shack in it's name, but boy was I surprised. I ordered the fried scallops dinner with onion rings and coleslaw and a shrimp burger. The scallops literally melted in my mouth. They had just the perfect outside fried coating on them. Even the onion rings were... More

The shrimp is the freshest you can get anywhere in season. The dock it right across the street, but the best thing is the hushpuppies! The place is a shack, but it is a great beach lunch.

We went here twice on our vacation and loved the fried shrimp. It was lightly battered and perfectly fried. Best place to get fresh fried shrimp. Not the fastest service but well worth the wait.

It was fast, but over priced for fast food... fried shrimp was okay. Crab cakes were not like any I had ever seen or tried before, deep fried and almost chocolate in color. My husband rarely doesn't eat everything on his plate... he only ate half a crab cake. Convenient stop on the way to Fripp or off the island,... More
