There is a reason Alvin Ord's has been around so long. They have the best sandwich in Beaufort period!. They bake their own bread and my, is it good. Try the Salvation sandwich...... but you better be hungry!

Alvin Ords is a family favoite. Whether it is the salads or the sandwiches they are made individually and are great. The salvation is a favorite as is the meatball. Great food and friendly staff.

Went for lunch. Service fine. Order at counter and wait for number to be called. My husband ordered pastrami sandwich which was good. I ordered roast beef and had inquired before ordering if the roast beef was rare and was told yes. Far from rare. Well done. We both ordered the potato salad which is nothing special and the potatoes... More

I'm so sorry you were not pleased with your order. We cook our own meat and 99% of the time its very rare. No excuse wish you'd had brought it back and I'd have looked for some rarer..I love it rare!! As for the potato salad we use can potatoes as we are a very small building and we have... More

No matter how many times I stop in, I am never disappointed with the service and sandwiches. Everytime I am in Port Royal around lunch or dinner time, I have to stop in.

I had heard that this place makes great sandwiches and it didn't disappoint. My sister and I split a medium roast beef sandwich with lettuce, tomato and cheese - big deal, right? Well when you put it on fresh homemade bread (baked every day on site), add a good bit of mayo and pile on nicely rare roast beef it's... More

In the small town of Port Royal, South Carolina stands a awesome sandwich shop that is run by a wonderful christian lady and her special military veteran husband. The sandwich of the day is always a special event, but their world known sandwich by many a United State Marine is the "Salvation", and is something to savor. So, mack this... More

I'm family to many locals, who swear by this place, they are not wrong! While not a "dining experience", you decision to eat here is going to be a good one. The food is great, the bread is awesome! They don't have long lines because they are bad...don't miss this one!

We had lunch around 2:00 and there were still many customers. Service was just ok but the food......salad and philly sandwich were not good at all. No salad dressing for a salad unless you purchase it separately. No ketchup for the sandwich! Very disappointing experience!

Do not be fooled by the appearance of this very basic sandwich bar... They elevate their sandwiches by using wonderful bread rolls that are baked freshly every day.

You have to go! The salvation bread is fantastic! The place is small. They do have outdoor sitting. The line maybe long, but the service is quick. All the sandwiches I have tried are great! The sandwiches are huge. You can see the size of the bread before you order.
