If you like Haddock, you must go....

This is a very friendly place with excellent service. This is a down to earth establishment that serves excellent food. Had the Lemon Encrusted Haddock, that was cooked to perfection. I understand that their lobster rolls for lunch are to die for, but will have to go back another time to see for... read more

One of the foods that I particularly enjoy is a well-prepared serving of Ipswich Whole Belly clams. Yeah, it’s a standard meal growing up in Massachusetts. So I am always on the lookout for a local restaurant that serves Whole Bellies wherever I travel. So Captain John’s at Pauley Island, SC claimed to have them whenever they got a clam... More

Great fresh seafood. Fast, friendly service and a nice atmosphere inside. Will definitely come back again. Lots of choices and decent prices.

We ate at Captain John's for a late lunch when vacationing, and found the seafood to be prepared very well. I had the crab cake sandwich, which was very nice....and my husband had the flounder sandwich, which was good and a huge portion. The prices were a bit high for lunch, but we wanted to try it as it came... More

Enjoyed a family meal here during Spring Break. Staff was great & our food was just the same! Crab cake sanwiches were good. Chicken Parmesan was good too. Nice place, small out of the way place to go for a good meal. Would definitely go back.

As others have commented, food is nothing special (only mediocre). Restaurant is dark & small. Don't bother....food & atmosphere are MUCH better (quality, quantity & price) @Websters & Hanser House...

A local friend suggested we stop in for Lobster Roll Sandwiches. I'm so glad we did. It was one of the best I've ever had. The fresh halibut was excellent too. We will definitely return to this great seafood restaurant the next time we are in Pawley's Island.

Fresh fish is king here. Captain John's serves only fresh seafood (haddock, scallops, and crab cakes) that is delivered daily. They prepare the fish according to your preference: grilled, blackened, or fried. Although the side dishes are very ordinary (frozen onion rings, the standard "house" salad, slaw, grilled vegetables, or French fries), the grilled haddock and grilled scallops brought us... More

Normally, I avoid restaurants found in strip malls; however, upon the recommendation of a friend, we gave Capt. John's a try. The atmosphere is informal and unpretentious. The food was perfect. Not fancy, just fresh and well-prepared. Do yourself a favor and try the haddock.

Wife and I were on our way to Myrtle and decided to stop and have a beer and some app's. Glad we picked Captain Johns. Seafood gumbo and buffalo shrimp were perfect, beer nice and cold. Everyone was real friendly. Will be back
