Haddock

Went to Captain Johns with some friends for a spur of the moment dinner Saturday. The lemon pepper haddock and the grilled seafood platter were outstanding. The fish is all fresh, not frozen and the serving size was plenty. Would definitely return to this little gem.

Decided to try this place based on reviews, we were not expecting much and we were shocked by how good the food was. We stopped in for a late lunch and we were seated quickly and drink orders taken. I had the fried haddock sandwich and it was outstanding, my friend had the grilled haddock and also really enjoyed it.... More

While my parents were visiting from NY, we took a drive down to check out Pawley's Island and stopped at Captain John's for lunch. What a wonderful discovery! Homemade haddock soup was outstanding. My mother, who has traveled all over the country, claims she enjoyed the best lobster roll she has ever had. My salad was fresh and flavorful. In... More

Food is fresh and delicious! Best clam chowder I have ever eaten and service is excellent! We go there quite often and have never had a bad experience! Haddock Pomordoro is my favorite.

Captain John's is a small seafood restaurant that reminds me of the seafood restaurants that are found in New England, especially Cape Cod. The scallops are awesome, as is the seafood gumbo. They offer great lunch specials, such as the haddock sandwich with a side and a drink for $8. Great deal. I've never been disappointed at Captain John's.

My friends and I went to Captain Johns for lunch last week. All our meals were incredible. I recommend the lemon pepper haddock dinner with rice although everyone thought their meals were the best!

Both Mr and I had the fried haddock sandwich which was very good. The piece of haddock was twice as big as the bun, served with lettuce. Would have been a bit better had they grilled or toasted the bun. Came with coleslaw on the side. Nice tartar sauce and pleasant service.

This place has the best seafood in Pawleys. It has a bar as well as tables. Make sure to try the fried pickles, as they are the best appetizer on the menu. My favorite item is a blackened haddock sandwich, which I order almost every time. They also sometimes have a chocolate cake with ten thin layers. It is moist,... More
