As semi-Cherry Grove locals, The Shack is our go to place when you can't decide on another place. Everything they do is reliably good. It's hard to mess up breakfast and we've never had a bad one at The Shack, where the eggs over light are reliably runny and the grits really are better than most. Lunch for us at... More

Went here on the recommendation of my of my friends. I was not impressed. The price was all right (not expensive) but the food could have been better. If you are going to North Myrtle Beach, pretend you went here and find another place to enjoy.

Went to the shack twice for the lunch specials. They change a little bit everyday but it is really good homemade southern food. You can tell by the lunch crowd that this is the place to eat, it is mostly local people on their lunch break. Hubby got fried flounder, mashed potatoes with gravy, fried okra, tomato pie and a... Good people, good food, good deal. Biscuits n sausage gravy.... Making me hungry again. To make a one hundred character review, the grits are delicious too.

I honestly can't remember how we discovered "The Shack" restaurant, but I'm so glad we did. In just a four day getaway, we ate there twice and would've eaten there each day but we wanted to give some other places a try. It was such a family atmosphere and the food was excellent. The service was awesome and the prices... More

Upon first impression, this place is homey and packed. We were seated promptly and our server was fantastic. When I asked her what one of the items was on the menu, she actually brought me a sample!! We ordered the one meat and three sides special ($7.99!!!) My husband had the fried chicken (just heaven), and I ordered the shredded... More

Took my wife to The Shack for lunch. She had crab cakes and I had the a Shrimp BLT. Upon the recommendation of our server, Robin, I had the BLT "Shack style". The shrimp was covered with special sauce. Really good! The place is not fancy but the food and service were excellent. Try it, you will not be disappointed!

The Shack (as it's name implies) is not meant to be fancy. It's smallish and a bit crowded. But it is so much better than the canned ambiance of the chain restaurants. Where else will you find oyster shell lampshades hanging over your table? Our waitress (wish I could remember her name) was very attentive and got everything right. Admittedly,... More

OK don't really understand the 5 star reviews here. The place is kind of cute, the service was fast and the waitress was very pleasant but the food just ain't great. It was acceptable but everything seemed to be preprepared eg frozen chicken fried steak, canned gravy, canned green beans that were doctored up a little too much. The shrimp... More

What a great find! The shrimp BLT was sooooooo good!!! They have their own seafood sauce that was really good. The service was simple, but fast and efficient. Nothing fancy, and it doesn't need to be. They had a really economical lunch special, but we all ordered off the menu. I noticed a lot of locals in there on their... More
