Lovely Visit

Who goes to the beach to eat German-inspired cuisine? We did! Saw good reviews in local newspaper and decided to give it a try. The restaurant has recently moved to a larger, more visible location on King's hwy. After suffering from growing pains, I think they've got it under control. I had... read more

My husband and I were looking forward to a German dinner. This restaurant was an established restaurant in Myrtle Beach and boasted one of the best in "German" food. We ordered drinks and I have to say my drink was good but my husband's Bloody Mary was lacking. The tomato juice was watery and weak. And we were shocked when... More

We went as a group of 9, so we made a reservation. Very quaint place with an excellent bar. Nice selection of German beer on tap. The food was delicious and well-portioned. The sauerbraten and rotkohl were especially good. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the meal and atmosphere. Huge problem -- we arrived 15 minutes before our reservation time and were not... More

Took the family out for my mothers birthday and was blow away by the food and the German draft beer selection . The Farmer’s Schnitzel and the Parmesan Schnitzel were both cooked to perfection. My Grilled Pork Shanks were one of the best thing I have had in years. And the thing that really made me happy was my mother... More

Our affinity for Good German food started with our Air Force assignment to Ramstein AB from 1970 - 1972. Cafe Old Vienna, 1604 N Kings Hwy, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577 met the challenge and qualifies as one not to miss if you enjoy good German/Austrian food. I had the Jaegerschnitzel and my wife had the Viennese Gulasch. Both hit the... More

I was a little hesitant when a friend suggested this place. So glad we went. Best potato salad and cucumber salad I ever had. This is a definite stop if you are in the area.

My wife, two adult grand-daughters and I had dinner here on a Friday evening. The food and service were both excellent. Our meals included potato pancakes, Hungarian bean soup, salads, and schnitzels. I personally enjoyed the spaetzle and red cabbage. Portions were generous, so much so that we ordered desserts to go (Black Forest cake back at the resort overlooking... More

We lived in Germany for 2 years and have been back many times. So, we know what good German and Austrian food is like. The food here doesn't even resemble good German food. We had the schnitzel and spaetzle. The schnitzel was battered and deep fried. It should be breaded lightly and pan fried. Good schnitzel is moist and has... More

Lunch. Service was great. Son had fish and chips, crispy, flakey, cooked perfectly. Husband ordered the sausage platter, knock wurst, bratwurst, kraut. Delish! I ordered the Wiener schnitzel platter, cooked perfectly, came with a bratwurst, German potato salad, tomato and cucumber salad. Yum! No room for dessert so we took 3 apple strudels to go...Flakey, like a cinnamon bread pudding on... More
