Very good authentic German.

I went last night with my father and husband. I had veal schnitzel and spaetzel which was delicious with the exception of gravy on the spaetzel. I don't like gravy and didn't know that's how they serve theirs. Dad has Holstein schnitzel and potato pancake. His was good. Hubby had all you can... read more

While German food is not what we usually think of when we're at the beach, we decided to try Horst Gasthaus. What a great surprise! The food was excellent -- real, home-made German food -- and the service was friendly and professional. My son and I both had sausage platters which included three different kinds of German sausages, plus yummy... More

My first time trying German food and I am sold!! A friend travels there frequently for work so he ordered for us. He got me the swiner snitzel with sourkraut and spaetzle. (Thin, fried pork chops with sourkraut and a German pasta). It was amazing. I cleared my plate easily! Wonderful atmosphere, live music and true to life home cooked... More

Once again, our yearly visit to Myrtle Beach includes dinner at Horst Gasthaus. Meal was wonderful. The goulash, pork schnitzel, veal schnitzel and my wife's New York strip were all perfect. I lived in Germany as a teenager and the food here reminds me of the wonderful food near K Town. Everyone who works here is very friendly. Will be... More

This restaurant was offered on Restaurant.com, so we decided to try it (after checking out the Trip Advisor comments, of course!) We were not disappointed!! The ambiance of this establishment is a step back into a Bavarian chalet----hand stenciling on the walls, a warm welcome, and the personnel dressed in Bavarian garb. An accordionist graced one section of the room,... More

Really enjoyed eating there. Food was delicious and plentiful. Some plates enough to share. Also enjoyed the music while we ate.

if you like german food this is authentic. I grew up on Sunday german meals. Excellent sauerbraten, excellent spatzle, and very good Bavarian goulash. Had apple strudel for dessert. Warm and delicious. Don't forget the accordion music to authenticate the experience ;-).

Refreshing to find authentic German food in a tourist beach town in SC. We enjoyed our walk from our beach rental condo to Horst Gasthaus. Service was great and enjoyed the accordion player too.

My wife wanted German for a change. She checked out this place on Triip Advisor It is clearly over rated by Trip Advisor. The owner was nice. Our waitress could have cared less when my wife said knew nothing about German we got a "what do you want" with a German accent. My wife ordered a Manhatten to drink which... More
