The restaurant itself makes you feel like you are in Bavaria. The décor is authentic German and there is sometimes a musician playing an accordion. My husband had the Horst Gasthaus Platte and I had the Bavarian Goulash. Both dinners were good and the portions generous. We had a good time - felt like we were back in Munich at... More

We meet my brother on a Thursday night and the place was hopping! As we were a party of four with reservations so we did not need to wait long. I ordered the house special of the night and it was delicious. Two of us even ordered a German Beer to stay in thyme! The music in the background was... More

My husband and I went on a very slow night later in the evening (about 7:45 so not even close to closing time). As we entered the bar maid actually said loud enough for us to hear as we were waiting to be seated " guess they aren't going to leave so you should seat them" at which point someone... More

Traditional styling in this family-run business was pleasing. Waitresses in traditional outfits fit the theme. There was an older gentleman playing an accordion with a "looper" to fill in the rythym. Everything had that old-time German sound to it, even when we recognized "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling!" The special was Stuffed Pork Chops -- two chops with cornbread stuffing between,... More

Service was good quick and efficient. German decor is hodge-podge of Canadian flags torn tapestries, falling off wall pictures and dead animals. All is very old, unkept, very dusty, musty and dated. Accordion player was very old frail man, could barely hear his doldrum tone, it was very sad to watch. German music is suppose to be upbeat, again very... More

This is a very German restaurant. The offerings are typically German. Appetizers were herring and potato pancakes. Both were wonderful. For dinner, we ordered goulash and Schnitzel. Both were excellent. Accompaniments were potatoes and red cabbage. My husband (a native-born German) ordered the rouladen. He felt the meat was cut too thick but the flavor was good.

We make it a point to visit here every time we are in town because we've never been disappointed in our experience. We love their weekend special of roast pork, the red cabbage and fried potatoes. This year my son who once owned a German restaurant was with me and thoroughly enjoyed his meal of sauerbraten, potato dumplings, red cabbage... More

Since it is almost impossible to find German restaurants we were so happy to find this one thanks to restaurant.com. We go to Myrtle Beach about twice a year and eat here every time. Great food and atmosphere!

German food is difficult to find...maybe because it is heavy. This restaurant had German dishes but not done in typical German style. If you wanted certain items you had to pay extra. The waitresses were in German looking dresses with aprons. The atmosphere was OK but nothing to write home about. Food was good, not outstanding. Moderate pricing. I had... More
