Since it is almost impossible to find German restaurants we were so happy to find this one thanks to restaurant.com. We go to Myrtle Beach about twice a year and eat here every time. Great food and atmosphere!

German food is difficult to find...maybe because it is heavy. This restaurant had German dishes but not done in typical German style. If you wanted certain items you had to pay extra. The waitresses were in German looking dresses with aprons. The atmosphere was OK but nothing to write home about. Food was good, not outstanding. Moderate pricing. I had... More

This German restaurant is one we'd heard about a few years ago, but hadn't enjoyed until now. I am so sorry we waited so long... our excuse is that it's an hour away. But we finally went and enjoyed a wonderful dinner: delectable sauerbraten, dumplings, and red cabbage for my husband, and the special of the day, perfectly prepared liver,... More

This restaurant had the BEST Jaeger Schnitzel I've EVER had in a restaurant!! I was told the chef went to culinary school in Germany. I had the schnitzel & red cabbage with it and both of them were the finest ever!! Such a shame it was our last night in MB or we would've gone back again for dinner. They... More

This is one of the two restaurants we have on the must go list when ever we are in the area. The decorations and the "floor show" which I think is the owner, make it a really uplifting fun evening. When our kids were little he would have them come up and use hand instruments (bells, tambourines) with him. The... More

This evening my wife and I were craving German cuisine. Where else could we go but to the Horst Gasthaus?! The schnitzel there is spectacular and the Black Forest Cake is to kill for, metaphorically speaking. The live German music, as well as the ambience of the eatery transports me to my happy place and that trace of German blood... More

This place was the best meal on our whole vacation, even the kids loved it. The décor was straight out of the Old Germany, right down to the staff in traditional costume. They had a gentleman playing accordion, it was a blast. Our waitress was so kind and helpful, explained the whole menu. We asked to move due to the... More

From the moment you open the door to this restaurant, the ambiance feels like you are in Germany! Genuinely smiling and friendly waitstaff greet you at the door and escort you to the tastefully decorated, Old World style dining area. Musical entertainment is provided by a gentleman in lederhosen playing lively, toe tapping polkas on an accordion. Several types of... More

We lived in Germany for a total of 6 years and this is absolutely the most authentic we've had in the US. If you don't like the food, don't go to Germany.

Ate at the Horst Gasthaus German Restaurant and Bar for dinner. Place is decorated in German Décor. They had a man playing an electric accordion up front who was entertaining the crowd which was singing and swaying to the tunes. The waitresses are all dressed in traditional German attire, some even have a German accent. The menu consists of traditional... More
