The brunch at Chestnut Hill was absolutely disgusting. There is not one item I would recommend. The glassware was filthy, the French toast had a foul taste, the grits were like soup, it was just God awful. When we got back in the car we agreed that anywhere, absolutely anywhere else would have been better. Please take this review to... More

We tried several restaurants between 6:30-7:15 and the wait time was about 1-2 hours. We were getting hungry and tried Chestnut Hill. We were seated immediately (that should have been our clue!) The atmosphere was very nice. The food..not so good and overpriced. I ordered the seafood platter (about $30) and it came with a garden salad, boiled potatoes and... More

Atmosphere was great. We sat by the windows and watched the turtles and crocs. Seafood was fresh and delicious.

Went there with friends who frequent this restaurant. Sat in lounge at pub tables and had appetizers and drinks. Very nice surprise. The lounge area is somewhat small, but we arrived in time to grab a table. Our server was new, but tried hard to please. The appetizer menu was pretty extensive: we ordered mussels, shrimp, and ribs.... very good... More

The meal was overall highly disappointing. The crab soup was lukewarm with a heavy scum and very thick consistency. The appetizer stuffed mushrooms were also cold. The Caesar salad was gritty ...were the greens even washed? The entrees were disappointing especially the sampler platter where everything was overly breaded and so heavily fried as to make the 4 items indistinguishable and tasteless.Had we not... Chestnut Hill is more toward formal dining than most restaurants in Myrtle Beach. Linens, and an extra richness in silverware and glassware. The staff is very cordial and helpful. The food is excellent. Chestnut Hill is one of my favorite seafood restaurants in MB. Don't let the classy atmosphere scare you away though, we wore shorts and collared cotton shirts.

This restaurant has a terrible reservation policy. You call and leave a message and according to them they only check the reservations when they aren't busy. When I mentioned this, the "host" literally said he didn't care what I had to say and WALKED AWAY. terrible attitudes, terrible management. There are thousands of other restaurants that deserve my business. I've... More

Chestnut Hill is hidden among some trees along Highway 17 in Myrtle Beach. I have eaten here for several years and have yet to have a bad meal. The wait staff is always helpful. I enjoy their crab cakes. Their "early bird" specials are very good and nice portions. If we are going to a show, an early bird dinner... More

The food was delicious, the server (Steve) was friendly and attentive. Plus, you can watch the alligators while waiting for your meal.

The only reason this gets a 2 star rather than a 1 star rating is because of the view of the lake and it's resident critters - alligators and turtles - which held the attention of our 5 and 9 yr. old children while we ate dinner. The only thing that was excellent with regard to our food was the... More
