We love Chesapeake House and all it has to offer. We always make sure to visit when we are in Myrtle Beach. I started out eating at this restaurant many years ago when I would go on vacation with my Mom and family. Now, I bring my family and friends to this restaurant. We did have a very bad experience... The food was average. Not horrible. Not worth waiting an hour and half for this dinner. Way over priced for the quality. I do not mind paying for good quality food. This is not worth it. I would not go back.

This is my favorite restaurant that we go to at Myrtle! The service is always excellent, the food is always good, and you can go check out the alligators in the pond! The fish soup is delicious and the Cajun grilled mahi mahi is amazing!

By the decor and food this place is over-priced and past it's heydey. Even though you order from a menu the food is very cafeteria-like and cookie-cutter. The food had no personality but our waitress did and was great. It was recommended by our hotel and was super busy. I would never go again.

Great place for seafood, good value but be prepared for a wait...everyone has found this gem. We'll go everytime we're at the beach.

The food is good. I am not sure it is worth the wait, which is usually over 45 minutes, especially when they won't let you on their wifi.

We've been coming to the Chesapeake House for 20 years now. It's a highlight of our trip to the strand every year. While the atmosphere and feeding of the alligator remain what it has always been, the food is not what it once was. There were 8 of us and most of our meals were average. The fish stew before... We frequent the beach about four times per year.....and can't leave without eating here. Fried flounder is always fluffy and flaky. Homemade salad dressings are delish along with their signature fish stew that is served with every meal. Stuffed flounder is best anywhere hand down. Consistently excellent. Come early for a lake view! Nowhere can compare!

We called at 4:00 pm before arriving since we knew a line would ensue and the hostess told us that they did not accept "call ahead" until there was a line. We arrived at 5:00 pm and waited 45 minutes. But once seated the food and service was excellent. a basket of hushpuppies and assorted rolls. then the seafood chowder.... More

We enjoyed the atmosphere and the service. The food was typical seafood from the area, fresh and cooked in a light batter and perfectly done. The soups were fantastic and the appetizers were great. We went to every restaurant suggested by our hotel and this was among the best. There is always a wait after 5 PM, so expect that... More
