Worth the wait

Cinnamon rolls are yummy before dinner. Fried oysters is the best I've had in Myrtle Beach. Great she crab soup and fish stew. Service could be better, but I am sure it depends on the server.

There is something on the menu for everyone. Plenty of food and not too pricey for good seafood. A tradition for my boyfriend's family for years. They are always busy because they are that good. Staff is attentive and excellent!

Great food, great service and a great value. Crab cakes and deviled crab are to die for. Early bird menu from 4-6 and they take reservations!!!

Best shrimp we've found in MB. And service is always top rate! Hush puppies are also some of the best around! For the price you can't beat Chesapeake House!

This restaurant, like ALL it seemed in North Myrtle beach was a mixed bag. After eating at 5 or 6 of the more highly rated and highly recommended seafood restaurants in the area my family and I determined we were all not very impressed at the quality of the seafood in a city that should (in theory at least) have... Been coming here for at least 35 years - food is always good, friendly service. We do the "Early Bird" because the slightly smaller servings are just right for our appetites, and the price is good. Expect long lines, BUT you can call ahead when you head out and they will bump you up some!

The place was crowded (a good sign). They do take a few reservations (we called a day in advance), so our wait was only about 20 minutes. As we left at 7 pm, the wait was 1.5 hours. It's worth it. The crab legs were great -- tasty and a lot of fun. Stuffed flounder was cooked a little hard... More

Fast but sloppy service, food just average is all I can really say positive about Chesapeake House. I know they can do better, have eaten here for over 20 years and have always been pleased. But this time the service was sloppy, the waiter spilled ranch dressing on my shirt and before I could say stop, he wiped it off... More

First of all, believe what other reviewers have said, call this place and make reservations. It is that popular and for good reason. I truly enjoyed the cup of fish stew than came with my entrée. Three of our group had the fantail shrimp, which they pronounced as wonderful. My daughter and I each had broiled flounder topped with a... More
