Great food

A local friend recommended this place so we went. I had the New York strip and my wife had the pork chops. Both were very good! Don't let the coffee crusted steak, fool you it didn't taste much like coffee. It just gave it a nice nutty flavoring that went well with that cut of steak. Waitress was... read more

My family had dinner at Thoroughbreds on Friday night and had the best time! It was a great atmosphere with excellent food and service! We had a party of six adults and six children ranging from 15 to two. Susie, Jake & Garrett were very attentive to our wants/needs. Great place to enjoy a meal with family!! Dawn

What an awesome experience! Thoroughly enjoyed the meal, the service and the atmosphere! Susie and Jake, our waiters, were unbelievable. I have a small child with me that was very cranky and they treated him very well and helped make him happy so we all could enjoy our meal! Dishes were cleared promptly and Garrett did an awesome job too!... More

We're from Kansas City, so when friends asked us to go to a SC steakhouse, we didn't believe it would be an appetizing meal. Total shock! The steak melted in your mouth and the whole meal was simply delicious. Josh did an excellent job making sure every need was met and we enjoyed great conversation. We would definitely go back... We were told we had to try Throughbreds by numerous people, so we did. Upon entering you are immediately impressed with the warm, rich decor. The service was top-notch and everything was clean and polished. We chose the house favorites, the Waimea Bay Ahi Tuna and the prime rib. Both entrees were delicious and nicely presented. Very generous portions so... More

We had a great meal at Thoroughbreds on our last visit to Myrtle Beach while celebrating our anniversary. The variety of dining options was impressive, and everything that we ordered was delicious. We especially enjoyed the grouper and salmon entrees! Our server, John, was wonderful, and made the dining experience very special!

All I can say is wow! One of my close girlfriends had both her wedding AND reception here and it was absolutely amazing! Her wedding was originally planned to be outdoors, but with a tropical storm in town that plan went out the door... The staff and management were so understanding and worked under short notice to set up for... More

Sonyaboo6188, Thank you for writing such an exquisite review of our restaurant. What a day that was last month! We were honored to host your friend's wedding here at Thoroughbreds. As everyone knows, the weather here at the beach can be so unpredictable. Within minutes, the beach ceremony was rained out, and the task fell to us to turn our... More

I just want to say if you want a great dinning experience go to Thoroughbreads Restaurant in Myrtle Beach, SC. Great atmosphere, great food! But If you want a class of service that is 2nd to none, ask for Susie Heilmann and her staff, I had a business dinner with 24 - 28 customers and this lady and her crew,... More

Tom L, Thank you for writing such an excellent review of our restaurant. We love taking care of our large groups. I expected better from this place. For steak house averaging over $100 a person I had high expectations. The service was good, but food could certainly be better.

Neal C, Thank you for writing a review of our restaurant. I apologize that you felt our food did not merit the price that was charged. I wish that this had been brought to our management team's attention while you were here. We would have done anything in our power to rectify the situation so that you were completely satisfied.... My second visit and probably will not return. The food and service was good but not the value I expected for the price. Dining room we were led to seemed musty, tired and dark. Only one or two other tables occupied. Coffee terrible for $3+ per cup.

maigolf, Thank you for writing an honest review of our restaurant. I apologize if you felt that the dining room was too dimly lit. We try to create a romantic and relaxing atmosphere in each room, and lighting plays a major role in establishing our ambiance. The night before your arrival, we had our professional team of carpet cleaners service... More
