We went on 8/22/14 and the whole thing was just so-so. Sushi did not taste fresh - kind of tasted like it had been dried out on a paper towel. It was edible. We had three different roles and the one with eel was the best because it was cooked sushi. The miso soup was edible (possible scorched) only because... More

First time to King Kong Sushi; preferred to go for Carolina Forest over dealing with their other location at Broadway on the Beach. Service was very good and attentive. We got there right at 5p; which was good because it was filling to capacity over the next hour. Started with the Dynamite Roll - it was very good - quality... More

I have dined at King Kong Sushi on three different occasions with friends. We first stumbled across it as a place without a 60 minute wait at Broadway, and hey, we all like sushi, so in we went! The atmosphere is nice - a few large booths and many high tables in a center area - if it was amazing... More

Visited Carolina Forest location. It was crowded, loud; service was slow & unfriendly. Sushi tasted old and hibachi wasn't very good. The rice and wine were by far the best part of the meal. No kids menu either, only a small serving at $13. We won't return.

My friends and I love King Kong in Carolina Forrest compared to the one at broadway. But this time was a let down. Our server, Sara, was not on her A game tonight. She incorrectly split the check, after reassuring us a few times she knew what to do. She was slow at checking on us, but once we got... More

Having stopped by the other night on the way home I was starving so I got lots of food. It was all very good and the service was great. I am going to be going back.

This place had the best fresh sushi we have had in years. The server, Ashley, spent time to cover the menu because the selections were vast and varied with taste. She made excellent recommendations including the spice levels and wines that paired great with our meals. We were there on a Sunday night and it was not crowded. Ashley checked... More

Food was great, the hurricane roll was super good and the vegetarian roll cucumber and avacado roll was delicious.

We tried out King Kong on a rather busy night. The place was just about packed (Carolina Forest location) and kept getting busier as the night went on. The menu is jam packed with such good looking choices that actually deciding is hard! Our soups and beautiful, huge bowl of edamame arrived super quickly and even with the place packed,... More

This is by far my favorite restaurant in Myrtle Beach. I am a loyal customer who dines at King Kong at least once a week, and I have yet to be disappointed! The Carolina Forest location is much better in my opinion, just because it's a more relaxed atmosphere. The lunch prices are competitive, and the food is just downright... More
