My husband and I went for dinner during our vacation since we had heard that it was really good. Although we got there a little early for the dinner crowd, the place was dead compared with the other surrounding restaurants. The views were very nice and the food was good, but not great. Thanks for the review. Not sure how you would know how busy other restaurants in the area were if you were dining with us. If the reference is towards the Marshwalk, some of the restaurants are actually closed this time of year because it's a slow season and on top of that, there are several other businessss in that vicinity... We had not been to Nance's in awhile and decided that we wanted seafood dinners. We were seated at a table with a beautiful view of the marsh. Our server was very good and explained their menu specials. Their Early Bird special was buy one and get the second half off. My husband and I both got the fried seafood... More

The food was delicious. The service was excellent. There were 11 of us, we were seated right away. I have been coming to Myrtle Beach for years, but this was my first time at Nance's. My niece lives here and she invited us to join her family at their favorite restaurant. We had an oyster feast. The cold slaw and... More

The worst meal I've had on the Strand. I didn't know you could cook all of the flavor out of fresh seafood. New England Clam Chowder was a glutinous white mass more reminiscent of wall paper paste than soup. If there were clams, they ran for their lives before they reached my bowl. The house red wine was more like... More

My first question is, if things were this horrible, why did you not ask for a manager? Ticket times for entrees are monitored and no tickets at any given time has gone beyond 20 minutes which included any broiled items which normally take longer on busier nights and if you visited on January 15, we were pretty steady most of... We have visited Nance's in the past and have had a decent experience but this time was very disappointing. The baked potato was hot but my husband's shrimp and my crab cakes were lukewarm. I enjoy their hush puppies. We had chocolate cake for dessert but there wasn't much cake and loads of fudge icing which seemed like the cake... More

If you are a fan of steamed pots, you definitely want to stop here. The pot is more then enough for two people to eat. The crab legs, shrimp, oysters, clams and potatoes were all steamed to perfection. service anddecor were adequate.

I live a little more than 2 hours away, but that doesn't stop me from making the drive to get the best oysters I've ever eaten! They are the perfect! Great family atmosphere. Best bartender around! I literally start planning my next visit as in walking to my car after eating!

Surprisingly empty for 8pm on New Years Eve. The Bloody Mary was the only item we tried with much taste at all. But it was superb. A plate of "hushpuppies" came out as we were seated. While they were tasty, they tasted like fried donuts. With the cinnamon butter, these were more appropriate as dessert, not appetizer. The 1lb of... More

Thank you for your review although It was a little confusing. The shrimp were tasty enough to not require cocktail sauce, hushpuppies were sweet (our recipe that has been duplicated throughout the grand strand), which according to thecreview were good but only for dessert. We don't serve tortilla chips with our homemade crab dip, we use only deep fried pita... More

This restaurant has an amazing view, and the service is very good. Unfortunately the food is very average. My husband had the fried oysters and clam strips, and several of the oysters were so rubbery that he spit them into his napkin. I had the broiled shrimp and deviled crab. The shrimp were TINY, and the crab had a lot... More

Got take-out of my Nance's favorites. Both meals were cooked well. There was more food provided than I needed for a meal. They were packaged, perhaps, the best I have ever seen, with the foam take-out tray being fully lined with heavy weight aluminum foil.
