Great fresh seafood. Come with a group and an appetite. Get the oysters and prepare for lots of shucking. It's worth it.

And the Oysters are to die for....free hush puppies too!! We had a New Jersey transplant waitress & what fun she was...Being from the north ourselves we could relate to her stories. Everyone was happy with their meals--steak, chicken, raw & steamed oysters. And it was happy hour.....YIPPEE!!!!

Beautiful views of the Inlet marshes and a good menu, make this a good choice for casual but excellent, dining. When oysters are in season this is the place to be. Their "oyster roasts" is a legendary part of the experience and the oysters are juicy, sweet and of good size. We go here fairly often and have never had... More

We were treated well by the hostess and our waiter. The food was good but not extra good. It was a week night and not crowded and the restaurant was very calm and quiet. We only have fish camps upstate to compare these seafood restaurants to and shrimp upstate is just as tender and cooked just as well in the... More

Let me tell you why I like this place. First all it is locally run and frequented by locals. Everyone was friendly as can be to me and I am not from this area. I was here two years ago and I liked it a lot and this time was even better, The trick is to go on a week... More

Rude Waiter. Didn't seem to like their job, or people for that matter. Spoiled my dinner. I was too upset to finish it. Should have known this place wasn't so great when the restaurant next door had a 20 minute wait and this place was 2/3 empty. The atmosphere was too bright and without personality. The popular restaurant was dimly... More

My husband and I stopped into Nance's tonight for a quick bit thinking it would be as good as it was 15+ years ago. What a disappointment! I ordered she-crab soup and boiled shrimp. Pretty simple, huh? The soup didn't have a bite of crab and was this thick, gloppy mess. The boiled shrimp tasted frozen and the salad was... More

Our party of four was seated at a window table overlooking the beautiful salt marsh. I was sad to hear they were out of local roasted oysters so ordered shrimp and crab. Both generous amounts and well prepared. The hush puppies are the tastiest in town. Our waitress was probably one of the best we had ever had serve us. Though... More

We eat here every time we go to the beach. Service is excellent. Prices are good. You can sit by the windows and watch the bay and see the seagulls and other birds, lots of boats.

If you have never had broasted oysters and would like to try them, Nances is the place to go. Broasted oysters are served steaming hot, in the shell, in clumps of four or more oysters. You open them, did in melted butter and enjoy. You can do this as a full meal. Oh yes, and you push the shells trough... More
