Wonderful meal

This was our first visit to the Charleston area and for our first night-which also happened to be my birthday-we chose the Old Village Post House. It could not have been a better choice! Started off with a blueberry mojito which was delicious and chose shrimp & grits as my entree. As a Brit, I had... read more

after several trips to very good formal Reston in Charleston and Mount Pleasant (Circa 1886, SNOB, Langdons), my wife and I decided to try something different. The OVPH is a 100+ year old inn, and it features a small, quiet restaurant with a great atmosphere for a dinner for two. The service is friendly, and it has a nice variety of... More

Nice atmosphere - a full dining room with diners enjoying their food and company but not loud. Food and service were excellent.

We felt a bit under dressed for Sunday dinner (casual vs business casual) but this was one of the best meals on our trip. A warm, cozy place with real quality feel. The fried oysters were soft and juicy. Shrimp and grits were excellent and the braised beef was tasty. Service is efficient without being overbearing.

We live in Charleston and Old Village Post House is one of our favorite restaurants. We like it for special occasions but we also love to drop in for their happy hour.

The restaurant is beautiful. They were very busy when we went, so the service was very slow. The salad, sides and dessert were good, but not great. I did not like my crab cakes at all. Maybe it was an off night? With so many amazing options in the area, I don't see myself going back.

Went here today for my best friend's 30th birthday brunch celebration. It was absolutely delicious! The dining area is very nice, light, open, very Charleston-y. It's in a great part of Mt. Pleasant so you can take a walk before or after and go close to the water if you wish. If you aren't from here, your navigation should lead... More

This is our go-to neighborhood restaurant.. on our way home from work, a night we don't want to cook, perfect eat outside weather, good friends in town, a pub with very fresh food, a dinner that is romantic and won't break our bank, themed wine dinners, or the best hamburger, even shrimp and grits that rock! Whatever the reason, this... More

Reservations a must!! We were seated on the second floor next to the fireplace. Service was fast and friendly. The food was delicious!! We timed our reservation just right. It was a very private and quiet evening. It was nice to dress up and go out for a romantic meal.
