Had no idea this existed in Mt. Pleasant!

We have been visiting the Charleston/Mt. Pleasant area for many years and thought we had tried all of the great restaurants. My wife and I dined here anticipating a gourmet meal. The setting is certainly picturesque. We each had a salad that was tasty but not crisp. Blue cheese dressing was great. I had crab cakes which contained a few small pieces of shell. The crab cakes were well presented but dry and drab tasting. My wife had shrimp and grits.... More

My wife and I joined our son and future daughter in law for a true southern feast. Our party enjoyed entrees of shrimp and grits, roast duck, and two seafood dishes -- all very good. My own crab-stuffed flounder was the best I have had anywhere. Service was wonderful. Ambience was perfect, as we could see out tall classic-southern windows... More

A total delight. The best PEI mussels ever - compliments to the supplier and the chef. A 15 minute ride from down town Charleston - worth the trip. Found a wine that I am totally familiar with - Emeritus Pinot Noir - great wine - great price.

This was our first visit to the Charleston area and for our first night-which also happened to be my birthday-we chose the Old Village Post House. It could not have been a better choice! Started off with a blueberry mojito which was delicious and chose shrimp & grits as my entree. As a Brit, I had tried grits once before... More

after several trips to very good formal Reston in Charleston and Mount Pleasant (Circa 1886, SNOB, Langdons), my wife and I decided to try something different. The OVPH is a 100+ year old inn, and it features a small, quiet restaurant with a great atmosphere for a dinner for two. The service is friendly, and it has a nice variety of... More

Nice atmosphere - a full dining room with diners enjoying their food and company but not loud. Food and service were excellent.

We felt a bit under dressed for Sunday dinner (casual vs business casual) but this was one of the best meals on our trip. A warm, cozy place with real quality feel. The fried oysters were soft and juicy. Shrimp and grits were excellent and the braised beef was tasty. Service is efficient without being overbearing.
