Good food and great views

This restaurant is very hard to find but once you do it is a good find, especially on a Friday night when everything else is crowded. The food is excellent. The views of the inlet is beautiful. If you've never eaten shrimp and scallops at a restaurant with a shrimp boat at the end of it then you've never had the best shrimp ever. They are simply frying or grilling up the freshest seafood you can get and doing it perfectly. The grilled scallops were like little fluffy pillows of summer ocean water exploding in your mouth,... I know that "The Wreck" is famous for its fried shrimp so that's what we ordered. They were the biggest and freshest fried shrimp I've ever had for sure. I prefer my shrimp deveined and these were not - so the taste was not what I had hoped for. The sides were certainly different than I've had before - red... More

The interior is already stated as a wreck, but don't be fooled, the seafood is very fresh and tasty! I ordered the 4oz of the grilled scallops, and man was the portion filling. I was thankful not to have gotten the 6oz after that. We were accommodated by our friendly waitress who began dinner by serving boiled peanuts. It was... More

What food I had it was average. I think the prices are a little steep for what you get. It is also strictly seafood, nothing else, so if you don't eat seafood, not a place to go.

The Wreck is in a remote location on Shem Creek and even though it is hard to find, once you do, the seafood is worth it! We had the shrimp plate and they were fresh and cooked to perfection. The boiled peanuts that are given to you as you are seated are a southern tradition and they are boiled perfectly!... More

If you like good fried or broiled shrimp, scallops, oysters or fish, and are happy to eat on a screen porch with a cement floor, paper tablecloths and paper plates, this is the place for you. The facility really is a wreck but the views of the marsh and Shem Creek are great. And the food was really good. It's... More

Had read about this restaurant in an older Fodor's guide as being an exceptional seafood place and worth the trip if you were in Charleston. Sadly our GPS had difficulty finding it and it was pouring rain the night we went. Just as we were about to give up, we turned down one more street to turn around and there... More

Great food, every thing my family ordered was perfect. It has a great location on the water with a perfect sunset. It is kind of hard to find, but has amazing views of fishing and family boats passing by. Great restaurant and amazing food!!

A local joint and I do mean joint. Do NOT go with small children unless they like adult style seafood. There are no options for them and no child menu at all. They select from the adult menu which is absurd! How many 5 year olds can eat an adult portion and how many adults want to pay that price.... More
