In the mid 1900's a new chapter of history was made in a small town in Little River S.C. At that time a restaurant was opened in the very banks of the Intercoastal Waterway, called Capt. Juel's Hurricane. In the mid 70's the restaurant was brought by Joe Robertson, who still owns it today. You will still find Mr. Joe in and around the kitchen and his wife Deanna behind the bar mixing up killer drinks or in the kitchen preparing the luscious desserts. The restaurant is managed by their daughter Heidi and her husband Clayton, it truly is a family affair. In 2014 the place under went a total renovation inside and out. The restaurant now features a new Sushi Bar, that's a must have over looking the untouched marshlands. Capt. Juel's stills brings you the freshest seafood, hand cut steaks and chops. The menu is filled with a variety of choices from tacos to burgers. Or maybe just stop by the have a drink on the deck and enjoy seeing the fishing boats bring in the catch of the day.

Fantastic fried shrimp! Plentiful.

My husband and I stopped in for dinner. We ordered the fried shrimp and fries. Came with delicious hush puppies and nice salad. Excellent shrimp, delicious homemade fries! . Every entree we saw that came out was very generous. The locals we met raved about this place. It is just off 17 two minutes... read more

We stopped after a round of golf at Glen Dornoch ( which you can see from the restaurant ). It was a chance encounter but boy are we glad we found it. The wait staff was so friendly and personable. The food was delicious quick and fresh. If you are looking for the casino boat dock you are here.

We accidentally came across this great restaurant while driving from Charleston to Wilmington. Made the turn of 17 and ran into this place. The restaurant is immaculate, bright, and cheery. Views were awesome and were the service. And this food could not be described any way other than delicious! Rest assured that we'll stop there again when we venture back... More

My husband & I love to visit Joe & Deanna at Hurricanes, if it was closer to our house we'd be there even more often! The food is amazing, always something new to experience... If you like sushi, you have to try their new Sushi Bar! And Deanna's "foo-foo" drinks (try the dirty banana!)... Yummy! A wonderful place to dine... More

Great menu with excellent sushi choices as well. Steaks, fish, etc. Great drink menu. Fast, friendly service (Jordan was our waitress). The restaurant overlooks the intracoastal waterway. My wife had baked stuffed shrimp while I had a spicy tuna salad with a sashimi plate. Sangria to drink!

In business for 70 years - that says it all. Stuffed crab mushrooms and panko fish and chips - delicious and very ample servings. Highly recommended and hope to return again.

Stopped in for an appetizer and a couple drinks. Nice to see a family run establishmnt that takes pride in their craft. Had a few appetizers which were better than we expected. Nice atmosphere dining inside. Would have preferred the outdoor dining, but it had just rained prior to our arrival. Would definitely go back again, or recommend it to... More

It was the best in mytrle beach. The qualty you could see and taste. Service was the best, are waitress was very knowledgeable about the food and history. It was great to talk with the owner about history since 1945. I highly recommend this as the only place for seafood. Thanks
