In the mid 1900's a new chapter of history was made in a small town in Little River S.C. At that time a restaurant was opened in the very banks of the Intercoastal Waterway, called Capt. Juel's Hurricane. In the mid 70's the restaurant was brought by Joe Robertson, who still owns it today. You will still find Mr. Joe in and around the kitchen and his wife Deanna behind the bar mixing up killer drinks or in the kitchen preparing the luscious desserts. The restaurant is managed by their daughter Heidi and her husband Clayton, it truly is a family affair. In 2014 the place under went a total renovation inside and out. The restaurant now features a new Sushi Bar, that's a must have over looking the untouched marshlands. Capt. Juel's stills brings you the freshest seafood, hand cut steaks and chops. The menu is filled with a variety of choices from tacos to burgers. Or maybe just stop by the have a drink on the deck and enjoy seeing the fishing boats bring in the catch of the day.

Fresh & Delicious!!

My family recently stayed in North Myrtle Beach, Avista Resort. We decided to explore the Little River area, & eat lunch while there. Capt. Juel's Hurricane has delicious food! We ate on the waterfront deck with a beautiful inlet view; our daughter waved at the passing boats. We ate the bacon... read more

My wife and I live about 5 minutes away from this place, so it is very convenient for us when we feel like having a meal sitting outside by the waterway. It isn't what you would call a "high end" place by any means, but the staff is excellent and very helpful and NICE! Being vegetarian, I have salads a... More

This restaurant used to be somewhere to go on vacation - but it has not been updated for years and quite frankly it needs it.

My husband and I had a great lunch here on the outdoor patio overlooking the water way. The firecracker shrimp was just spicy enough and had a great tempura like batter. The oyster po' boy and crab cake sandwich were also excellent. The area is away from the busy touristy area; like a step back in time.

This is DEFINITELY a hidden gem!!! Found this wonderful place while at the shrimp festival on Sunday! Had a taste of their fresh sushi. OUTSTANDING!!! Went back for dinner last night n ordered the seafood platter. The waiter brought a basket of fresh hushpuppies n butter to the table. They were yummy but a word of advise; don't fill up... More

Stopped by to try the She Crab Soup and Hot Crab Dip, during the Little River ShrimpFest. Nice restaurant to grab a seat with a great view of the ICW, with air conditioning. Our travelling companions thought the soup was a 7 out of 10 and the dip was good, but fairly unremarkable. Service was adequate. Highlight of visit was... More

Best food we had all week. Shecrab soup, great hush puppies and fresh fish. Waiter kept the sweet tea coming the entire night. Will be back!

Food was good, no disappointment there. Host was kind and helped with seating our child. I could tell server was over worked which reflect our service. However I saw others not pulling there weight which was probably the down fall. I would consider those place more of a bar than a family place.

Went for lunch. Husband has fond memories of eating there 50 years ago as a child. Our server was very good, wish I could say the same about the food. On the water, calming view.

While on vacation at Cherry Grove, we ate at Captain Juel's several times for lunch and dinner. The food was fresh and well prepared so we kept coming back. Great She crab soup! Wonderful steamed shrimp! Fresh and large oysters. Service was very good and the seating and view was what you wanted on the river. Good experiences.
