Rubi's is no more. Apparently this is not recent. I saw from across the street, the sign says they are now The Star Tavern, it looks established, and who knows how long they have been there. Good luck.

We used to come to this location all of the time when it was Papi's. It closed down for quite a while, then re-opened as Rubi's. They are trying, but it is, at least so far, nowhere near the quality and taste of the original.. We'll keep popping in from time to time to see if there's improvement.....

We used to go to Papis every time we came to the beach, it was a little taste of Texas with each visit. The place was clean and you could see they cared. I went by there today and was amazed at how far it has fallen. The front area of Papi's was always clean and neat...today there were weeds... More

We had been driving around trying to decide where to eat, when my husband saw the small sign, "We have brisket", so we stopped. He enjoyed his meal, I had the pulled pork, good also. Menu is very limited, but sometimes, to much to choose from doesn't ensure you a good meal. The waitress who served us was very attentive... More

We stopped at Rubi's Texas Grill for a drink before our dinner at Parson's Table (next door) to check out the new digs and new owners. Friendly and attentive service. Menu looks great and they have limited it to a selection of key items that they do well - still a lot to chose from. A great place to stop... More

Spotted a new sign from across the street the other day, says Rubi's Texican Grill or something close to that. We'll see. Same people? Who knows...

This is a quaint pub atmosphere! Hidden gem with local flair, rather than tourist noise. Great food!

How can somebody leave a recent review on a place that's been closed for months? How is that possible? Anyway, this neat little spot closed for numerous reasons - not just because they were selling alcohol without a valid license for months, other more serious reasons abound. Hopefully someone will re-open a new place (non-smoking again we hope), offer a... More
