Have eaten in this restaurant a number of times in recent months with my partner. They always seem to assume that the man is paying the bill and leaving the tip and they come and ask me if everything is OK and whether I want a refill, but totally ignore my partner, who is often the one who is actually... Visitng relatives in the area and they wanted to try LT. We had a variety of the menu and all of it was good for the price. I had the grilled chicken breast. It was over cooked and over salted. The black-eyed peas were bland, the candied yams were just ok and the potato salad was salty and under seasoned.... More

This is very good old timey Southern soul food that Southern natives of all races love! Very broad menu. A "meat & three" restaurant. If you have never had it as a breakfast meat, try their "liver pudding" well done along with grits and eggs. In cold months their spicey bean soup is very good. This is among our regular... More

My first visit was better than expected. The chicken fingers and fries were good. Next visit, terrible. The chicken fingers were chewy, fries not cooked, and the rolls were clearly our of a bag. The sweet tea is good, and staff friendly, but the food tastes like frozen food.

This was my first meal at this particular restaurant, though I’ve dined at other Lizard’s Thicket restaurants in the Columbia metro area. I ordered a classic southern meal -- country fried steak with mashed potatoes. It’s a pretty basic test of the regional cookery on which Lizard’s Thicket has built its reputation. Alas, I received a sub-par tasting meal consisting... More

Friendly service and great food always! Meat loaf is excellent. Creamed corn tastes like candy! Corn bread is just sweet enough. Catfish is excellent too! Try the sweet tea.

If you are someone who likes fried chicken and collard greens then this is the place for you. It is very homey in a southern home way. We like it.

My daughters are picky eaters, the loved the ham dinner with macaroni and cheese and apple sauce. I had the chef salad with baked chicken with French dressing and wafer crackers. Waitress was pleasant and kept our drinks full.

Southern fare served fresh daily. Its like eating in your grandmother's kitchen. Their famous salad with fried or baked chicken is a must. A hearty helping of fresh vegetables. They have one of the beat hamburger steaks with grilled onions in the Midlands. A true hometown gem!
