My husband and I dined here on New Years Eve where the only option was a $150 tasking menu ($190 with wine), and while the room was beautiful, the food was lacking. The tasting menu started with a she crab confit soup - very little crab and the soup was tepid -- certainly not hot -- and I grew increasingly... More

Adequate - we went for brunch and were surprised to find the buffet somewhat sparse in places. The food was just average- unimaginative, not so fresh baked goods, gummy sauces, everything just past edible. Flies buzzed around. Bad sparkling wine was poured with a free hand. The father/son duo playing was just unfortunate. The lad playing the violin looked miserable,... More

The location of this restaurant is what makes it the gem that it is. The room overlooks the beach/ocean giving a spectacular view while you dine. The service is top notch as well as the food. Just make sure you eat early enough if you want the view because after dark you won't get the view.

We were visiting Kiawah Island and decided to celebrate a birthday with a dinner at the Ocean Room. We had a lovely table, lots of privacy, and excellent service. The food, however, was slightly above average. Entrees hovered around $39, on a par with high-end restaurants in NYC. But food doesn't compare. The wine list was equally pricey and not... More

Dined at the Ocean room the first night we arrived at the magnificent Sanctuary. The architecture of the room and the view therein is worth a visit. What made this dining experience memorable was the personable and warm service that we received from JT. His attentiveness and friendly interactions added much to our evening. The cuisine was perfection as well.... More

I do not eat beef or pork and the chef came out to give me a tour of the Wednesday night buffet so I would know what I could eat. He made some special items for me which were pretty good - my favorite was the shrimp and grits. Overall the buffett was ok but a little overpriced for the... More
