Went with a large group. Our waitress was really good about staying on top of our drink orders and getting all our orders correct. The hush puppies were very good, but I thought the she-crab soup was too thick and rich. It was so filling I barely touched the salad I had ordered. Overall very good... read more

We have been to Gilligan's before and have been very pleased. Our most recent visit was not a good one. I ordered a glass of wine, 20 minutes later (upon seeing it sitting on the bar) my husband got up and helped himself and the server never even apologized. I ordered She Crab Soup which is usually good - but... More

We not been to Gilligan's for 3-4 years - it always had great seafood in the past. We ordered a dozen oysters and sent them back after eating one each, they were on the verge of going bad and tasted horrible. The fried oysters and flounder were both soggy and the coleslaw was warm and lacking any flavor. The side... More

Local fresh seafood. Had flounder and oyster dinner and next day went back for spinach salad with grilled scallops. Both meals were very tasty, and service was very courteous. Will dine there again on future trips.

I worked in the food and beverage industry for 7 years from fast food to Bartending to get myself through college, and my boyfriend is a chef at a private country club in the area. We understand how the food and beverage industry works. I was very unimpressed with the service at this restaurant; however, the food was great. While... More

Went to Gilligans many times to get local oysters. There are only a few restaurants that have local oysters available in season [months with an R in them]. Had the tray vs the all you can eat. The oysters were well steamed as requested which makes it easy to open them. This selection does not come with any sides. My... More

I wanted to try one of the local seafood spots and Gilligan's was closest so I tried it out. The fish I had was tasty, the prices were great and the service was excellent. Like a lot of restaurants in the area, I wish there were more healthy options.

We were staying nearby and Gilligan's was recommended by the hotel. Staff was very friendly. I was looking forward to some raw oysters , but was disappointed because they were very small. Also ordered the Surf and Turf which was very .

We have eaten many times at other locations of this Charleston chain, but this was my first time at the John's Island location. I had the seafood platter and thoroughly enjoyed all four items on it - flounder, shrimp, scallops, and oysters. Out of the nice selection of sides, I chose grits and fried okra. The okra was good, but... More
