Looking for a great seafood place this is it! The place was packed because of restaurant week in Charleston but it was worth the wait. The food was fresh and plentiful. My wife and I had the seafood trio fried Flounder, scallops and shrimp. Very tasty, the mashed potatos were creamy and lots of flavor. I would have given 5... More

We went to Gilligan's on Friday January 3, 2014. There was no wait; we were seated promptly. Our server came by and greeted us and took our drink order while we were browsing the menu. I ordered the all you can eat fried shrimp with fried okra and coleslaw. Our server brought us a small basket of hush puppies which... More

Note that the fish and chips actually comes with potato style chips, not fries, which is more traditional. Chips are good, but are the bulk of the entree. Fish was good, was hoping for more of it. Salmon was good, but typical of a chain style restaurant. Hush puppies that the waiter served while we were waiting for the entree were... More

We usually stop by Gilligans when I visit my sister in Charleston. Tonight we had exceptional service from Che'la and my crab cakes and fried okra where delicious! The hush puppies are great and the sweet tea hit was just what I needed. I'll be back. And if possible I'll ask for Che'la by name!

Extensive menu of local seafood, burgers and delicious hushpuppies. Fun place with bucket for your shellfish. While the food is sometimes average, there is a lot to choose and the service is VERY friendly.

We had an extremely good lunch. It was one of the best we have had during our stay in the low country. The service was good and the manager visited our table to check on everything. Plus, the prices were reasonable. This will be on my list of places to go when I'm in Charleston.

Gilligans is a must stop every time we visit the Johns Island area (which is often). The hush puppies are addictive. In the fall, they have an "all you can eat steamed Oyster" special--fresh, local, sweet, briny..don't miss it if you like oysters. The rest of the menu is just as good..we don't eat fried, so I can't say anything... More

Based on the suggestions of my best friend and her husband, my husband and I were excited to go here. Sadly, it was not worth the almost hour drive. The waitress paid us little attention (the place was not busy but she was constantly gone.) She forgot the side to my husband's meal (when our food was brought to us... More

We had the opportunity to stop at this Gilligan’s on the way to our week stay on Kiawah Island. What a pleasant surprise it was to find this great seafood restaurant with a great menu and service. Not only do they offer wide variety of choices for both seafood lovers and landlubbers, but they know how to properly fry and... More
